Yesterday was my first day back to work. Things have been a bit crazy here and I was struggling with the idea of going back at all. I'm a HS teacher and have been off all year due to bed rest, then the complications after the pregnancy. It's a weird time in the year to go back and I was worried I might meet some resistance because there were some unhappy people that my return kept getting pushed off. For the most part things went well, the kids were amazing and they reminded me why I went into teaching in the first place before all these crazy changes. I'm officially a working mom, till summer break at least!

I'm glad things went well for you when you went back!
I had a kinda similar situation. I was a teacher as well and was put on strict bedrest starting at 22 weeks and had to leave pretty suddenly. Staff was very understanding and even donated sick days to me as we lost our health insurance and I obviously didn't have enough sick time banked up to get that many paid days of leave, however I felt sooooooo guilty when I decided to take the rest of the school year off after she was born (in February). Then I took a one year leave of absence for 'child rearing' the next school year and ultimately resigned because I never wanted to go back HA, but I always wondered how people would have treated me if I decided to come back and finish out the year, or had gone back after my year leave.
