My induction yesterday was not successful. I was on Pitocin all day, and didn't dilate any further than my original 3cm. My cervix remains long.
We were given the option of a c-section, taking a break (it had been 24 hours since I had eaten) and starting the Pitocin again last night, sleeping and then attempting induction again today, or waiting to see if my body makes favorable changes over the weekend and trying again next week.
All signs seemed to be pointing to the fact that the babies and my body are not ready yet. We have decided to wait and see how things look on Monday. I'll go see my OB then, and we'll make some decisions from there.
I am exhausted, generally emotional, and disappointed, but I believe this was the right decision for now.

Re: No babies yet :(
Big hug to you (a side hug since two babies in the way makes hugs hard).
Sounds like waiting is a good decision. Hope you get lots of rest, eat lots and good luck Monday!

GET OUT!!! I literally just told my husband I had to come inside and check my phone because I hadn't been on thebump in over 24 hours and I wanted to see if you had posted an announcement yet.
I can only imagine how frustrated you must be right now. I had this happen to two different friends of mine (pregnant with singletons though) and I remember thinking I couldn't believe that the induction hadn't worked after my experience with Pitocin but I remember witnessing how they felt after coming home and having to go in a second time (the second induction worked three days later for one of my friends, the other ended up having a c-section after her 2nd induction failed but I think that's because she chose not to go through a 3rd induction for emotional reasons).
UGHHHHHH. Hugs to you. I hope Monday brings more promising news and you can meet your stubborn little duo

Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!
Wow, that sounds emotionally and physically draining! I think you made the right call to hold off on the c/s for now. It must have been disappointing to go home without babies though. GL at your apt tomorrow!
I hope you are able to be comfortable until the babes do come.
Oh no. That sounds so stressful and uncomfortable. Hope this weeks brings some good news.
My primary OB prefers to deliver twins at 36 weeks, provided they have reached an adequate weight. She believes the risks begin to outweigh any potential benefits at that point (I also believe my rising blood pressure played a factor in her decision as to when to induce me); however, my MFM and others in my OB's practice typically deliver twins at 37 weeks. I am definitely comfortable with waiting until 37 or 38 weeks if that is what is best for the babies.
