I'm having a nautical themed first birthday party for Jack. The main colors are navy blue, baby blue, and red. I need some food ideas. So far, I'm thinking a veggie tray, fruit cups with red and blue fruit, goldfish crackers, shrimp cocktail, fruit pizza bites with strawberries and blueberries or crab/sailboat cookies, cupcakes, maybe a meat and cheese tray? I want to include some more cutesy nautical themed food. TIA!
Re: Nautical birthday party food ideas?
This was the idea that I posted on the BP board,
How about crab and artichoke dip with nachos? And if it were my party I would probably set out plain cheesecake and let guests top it with their choice of blueberries, strawberries and or cherries.
What an awesome idea to go with the colors of the party!
Or you can also have a fruit tart with blueberries and strawberries.
There are some cute ideas on Pinterest. This page has a ton: https://pinterest.com/kidswatersport/nautical-food/
I've seen the hotdog octopus in real life, and it's super cute. (You can google directions on how to make them.) You could also carve a watermelon to look like a boat and serve your fruit from that. I've even seen fruit arranged on bamboo skewers to look like sails.
We're doing a surf theme at the beach. Some of the food things we're doing:
"Fish and Chips" Goldfish and chips mixed together.
"Coral Salad" Pasta Salad
"Sand-wiches" We're getting a sub platter
"Crunchy Coral" Veggie tray
You can make sliced apples and use a toothpick with a cube of cheese on the end to make sailboats.
Life savers to make something with.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Pinterest has tons of ideas, if you're on it.
