Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Throwing up after shots

So, my son had his 6 appointment and shots yesterday.  He was okay yesterday, a little whiny but no fever.  Today he threw up his first bottle of the day and then the few bites of rice cereal I gave him 20 minutes ago (he never spits up, so this is odd).  He seems fine otherwise, totally normal.  Could this have something to do with his shots yesterday?

Re: Throwing up after shots

  • Our 6 month shots were horrible.  DS ran a 101 degree fever for two days and he threw up (not spit up, legitimate gagging puke).  He only did the once, so I suspect it was related to the shots.

I would just call your pedi if it happens again, but my DS was fine after the one puking incident.

DD who is 8 years old get extremely sick after shots. SHe can't walk because her legs are so sore from the shots in her thighs, she throws up for a full day, gets a horrible headache, has a high fever, & sleeps most of the time she isn't throwing up. I have even considered not getting anymore vaccines. I recently read that children that are vaccinated get 85% more diseases than non vaccinated children. DS (9 mo old) gets just as sick as DD. It concerns me! I hope your LO feels better soon. Just a heads up, our pedi doesn't even see DD when this happens. He said it's normal!

I'm just curious where you read this? DH was vaccinated and NEVER gets sick. Seriously, he's been sick like half a dozen times in all of his 32 years. I, on the other hand, was also vaccinated and am constantly sick. I think it depends person to person.
