First ER trip

I'm surprised it took this long, with my little wild woman.  Was holding V's hand at the library today and she kept hanging and dropping to the ground.  One time when she did it I heard a little pop--like when you crack a joint.  Didn't think it was too big of a deal, but she was acting a little fussy, and she wouldn't use that arm.  It was just hanging there.  I gave it an hour to see what would happen, and it didn't get any better.  Went to take her shirt off to check for any swelling, and she sobbed in pain when I bent her elbow to get her arm in & out of the sleeve.  Talked to my neighbor who's a paramedic and he said I should take her in just to be safe.  Doc says it was nursemaid's elbow, and that it's super common.  It would have been an easy fix, but I guess at some point she had managed to pop it back into place herself, though we don't know how.  The hardest part was when they did an x-ray...I couldn't go in the room since I'm knocked up, but I could hear her crying and saying my name.  Crying  Other than that she was a trooper though.  Sucks that I'm going to have an ER bill for basically nothing, but I don't regret it.  It was definitely a better safe than sorry situation.

Mommy and Daddy are taking her out to dinner tonight and she's totally getting dessert.  Smile

  • Ahhh! This happened to Bo a month ago Sad Well I am not exactly sure if it was the nurse's maid thing, but is sounds exactly right--Bo was playing in his mini cooper car, and slipped between the floor and seats--I heard the pop and he kept messing with his arm as if a bug were on it, or he was trying to shake something off. I freaked out! Called my H to come home so we could take Bo in and came upstairs to get dressed--- as I put him down he threw his arms up in the air, and I heard another pop! Then he was fine Tongue Tied...his arm did not hurt to the touch nor was he messing with it! Looks like this time we dodged a more serious injury and an ER visit.

I hope all is much better now with V! Cake does fix everything (haha, get it?)!
