Success after IF

What are you wearing?

No, I'm not a perv.  But I do need clothes.  I really didn't want to buy new clothes because I really wanted to get back down to my PP weight.  But I'm only 5 pounds away, and I don't think my old clothes would fit even if I lost those 5.  My body may be different forever.  My work wardrobe is covered between old fat pants and a few new pairs.

But what do you wear when you're not at work or if you don't work?  I'm not really a yoga pants outside of the house type of person.  But I also don't find jeans to be as comfortable as I used to, now that I have a muffin top.  (MH says it's okay, he likes muffins Stick out tongue)  So what is your casual wear?  Help a (chunky) sister out!

I feel so feminine when I am wearing one, and you generally look like you put more effort into getting dressed than you really did. Sorry, I didn't even think about that. That's the reason I didn't start wearing dresses to work until recently. I hated getting half undressed to pump at work!

I feel ya, TJ. I'm 10 lbs from pp weight and struggling to find anything to feel cute in. If I'm being super casual then, I'll wear some skinny jeans but they have to be a comfy, stretchy kind, v neck t-shirt, and my toms. If I want to be a bit cuter, then I'll put on a cute, flowy top with my skinny jeans and some wedges.

Didn't you do the Whole 30? I can't remember if you loved it or not. Did you lose weight with it? I've been considering trying it.

I did!  I lost 11 lbs in the 30 days.  I loved it!  Well, I mean, I hated it, it was so hard.  But it was only for 30 days.  I especially hated it on my wedding anniversary and at MH's holiday party.  But I learned so much about my body.  Since I finished it, I still try to eat mostly that way, only real foods, no dairy, no soy, no grain, no sugar.  I cheat now of course on occasion.  But I no longer have to take zantac and tums on a daily basis.  I physically feel so much better.  I have steadily continued to drop weight, and I think I'm now down 19-20 lbs.  And I haven't been trying since the end of the Whole30.  I mean, I'm trying to eat right, but I don't count calories, I don't stress if I order something and it accidentally has corn on it.  I drink alcohol occasionally.  It's been awesome.  If you decide to try it, let me know if you have any questions.  But I say you should do it!

I live in yoga pants.  I have found ways to make them not look so lounge-y or workout-ey.  If it isn't too hot I like to pair them with a cute t-shirt and my worn out denim jacket.

I'm weaning right now, so it won't be an issue for long. But, a good number of my dresses are vneck and empire waisted. They worked pretty well. I wear yoga pants around the house, but I've always been a dress kinda girl. I don't even own shorts. I just hate the way they feel. Thank heavens for Mod.cloth and their dresses.

  • Now that nice weather is around the corner- sundresses!

I know that sounds high maintenance, but they are WAY more comfortable than jeans and cuter than yoga pants. I have a million and thank goodness! Wear them with flip flops to the grocery store or pair it with a cute cardigan and pumps for work/night out. No worrying about muffin top/panty line/thunder thighs/post baby belly- they are flowy and cute! Plus ill belt them when I lose the baby weight.

AND-,want to hear an embarrassing tip? Buy them from Forever 21- you can get them for $15 and you won't care if you have o replace them if they rip or shrink in the wash.

If I'm taking the kids somewhere I usually throw on a pair of skinny jeans, some flats and throw some sort of a comfy shirt on and spice it up with a scarf or something.  When it's warm out I wear maxi dresses or simple cute cotton ones with some flops or sandals.

If I'm just running errands like going grocery shopping or doing a Target run I'll throw on some yoga pants with a light hoodie and my tennis shoes.

  • My body pp is a paradox I weigh the same, but I am smaller than I used to be. Less meaty or muscular i am guessing. I was reluctant to go out and buy all new clothes, but I am sick of looking like I am wearing sacks, so I finally tried on some new clothes. It was really hard to find some alone time to actually try stuff on!

So I got some new skinny jeans, a pair of banna.na republic pants, a few cute t shirts and a dress from the gap. I even had to get a size of bra that I haven't been in since high school. It is nice to have some clothes that actually fit me.

It is cold in Seattle and I am not a shorts person unless it is for exercise. I prefer to wear skirts and tank tops if it is hot out.

  • I'm a yoga pants gal. If I want to look nicer than yoga pants I wear flared skirts with a t shirt or pretty top. I despise shorts unless I'm home or dog walking. I think shorts make my rear look big. Which makes no sense because yoga pants are more fitted.

  • I usually work from home one day a week and I always wear workout clothes or yoga pants. When it's warm I typically wear sundresses. I am so much more comfortable in dresses than pants or shorts anyways though. I say get a few cotton dresses in prints that you can dress up for evenings or dress down with flip flops during the day.

I'm using my Bella band for pants right now. All I wore during pregnancy was yoga pants and I was desperate for some jeans! I can wear my normal size it just looks horrific if I button and zip. I'm not a lot help otherwise, it's hard finding tops that make me feel good.

I definitely wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt on the weekends to do grocery shopping and other running around.  Or I'll throw on skinny jeans, a tank and a cardigan and throw some color in with a scarf.  That's pretty much my wardrobe!

Is it okay if I hate you just a little bit for already being back at your pp weight?  I mean, just a little.

Hate away. I dropped all but 5lbs  in the first 10d so it must've mostly been water and baby. But I attribute  the ongoing loss to stress and losing what appears to be half my weight in milk each day.... I am still soaking bath towels at each feed. It's ridiculous. But a problem I am happy to have rath than vice versa. If it makes you feel better my thighs are still huge and covered in stretch marks. I'm not sure I'll go back to swim wear ever.
