So a few replies but here is my official introduction.
mom of one, not but choice initially but now I couldn't imagine our life any other way!
My son is seven, great kid and I love him to pieces. He has lots of friends and our house is always full of the neighbourhood kids who love to hang out here!
I work full time at a job I love and we love to travel.
One and done great, especially when I see my mom friends on the second and third rounds now with toddlers. They love it but I don't think I woulld have it in me! Plus our son does so many more activities since we have the time, energy and finances to focus on him. So can't saybenough about how much I am all about the one and done lifestyle!
Re: Formal intro
Hey, nice to have ya here
I have a 7 year old, too!
Thanks for the welcome.... And yes 7 year olds are easier than 20 month olds! You will really appreciate one and done when it gets to that age!
Welcome to the board! I bet having a 7-year-old is loads of fun!
If you don't mind me asking, when and how did your feelings change about being O&D? I'm O&D not-by-choice (my only "choice" would involve divorce...) so I'm very interested to hear what changed that for you!

Not at all. Well we as a couple had always said we would have two children. With my son I have severe complications and it was not looking good fo me. The doctors advised us not to have any other children due to the risk to me. I struggled with that but my husband was adamant that he did not want me to go through that again. Then I pushed for adoption which he struggled with. When my son was three we agreed to pursue it. It meant alot to me that he came around and supported me in my desire to have another. But after going down that road we mutually realized that given ours sons age, the time required for adoption, where our careers had taken us and the lifestyle that we had gotten used that one and done was right for us.
Before that point I always felt a sense of longing when I saw families with more than one. After that I felt really content with our family. I think as my sone grew older I realized how much I enjoyed my me time and ability to pursue my career while still having lots of energy and time to spare with him. Really the best of both worlds.
Are you saying your husband against having another?
