So after the fun of yesterday's UO posts and Zona's very funny post this morning I thought it might be fun to share some of our less glamorous moments so far with our little ones. I will start. DS has had very dry skin since shortly after he was born. I've used the aveeno baby eczema ream as it seemed to work best. So one day last week his tummy was so dry and at the end of the day I grabbed his cream and slathered it all over his torso and legs then put his PJ's on. I thought it was strange that he screamed after I put it on but just figured he was hungry sinceit was dinner time. The next morning when he got up and I changed him his belly was all red and looked very sore so I thought maybe he for some reason had a reaction to his lotion and just put Vaseline on his skin. We went about our day and I put Vaseline on it again but was worried at how red it was so I checked his temp but nothing was out of the norm. Anyways, it was bath night so I prepared the bath so that DH could give DS a bath and I went to get his aveeno baby eczema body wash out and to my surprise it wasnt with his tub, but his lotion was. So long story short, rather than putting lotion on my kid out body wash on him, then wrapped him up in his PJ's and put him to bed. No wonder his little skin was all hot and irritated the next morning. So lesson learned....lotion and body wash don't go in the same place anymore. Stupid baby brain!
Re: Facepalm Friday
Let's see...
* Not being fast enough with the diaper change and seeing him pee on his own face. That's always a good time...
* Bonking him on the head getting in and out of the car seat a couple times early on.
* Practicing sitting up for some company that came over (read: showing off) and being monstrously spat up on... right in the face. My sister and her BF of 6 months awkwardly laughed while I cleaned up my face and excused DS and myself to both get a change of clothes.
Oops!
Uhm, I feel like I'm changing my first diaper like 50% of the time that I'm changing a dirty from DD. Her poo is so different than DS's was (read: MESSY!) and she's lightening fast! I can't tell you how often poo gets all over the place. Changing pad, her, me, diaper pail, etc. At least I'm not the only one, MH came out from changing a dirty last night to tell me it had gotten all over the place. HOW does it keep happening?! Her little arms and legs are just so strong and fast and flaily. We must get better at this, it's embarrassing!

my read shelf:
Pee on the face...DS has also done this. They get so much range! LOL!
Glad I can inspire!
Dropping my phone on him. He's been iPhoned a few times.
Trying my breast milk in front of my husband because I knew he'd act like Ross Gellar. It was awesome.
Getting poop on my bed sheets at 2am and just cleaning it with a wet wipe and laying a blanket on top to go back to bed rather than change it and remake the bed.
My DH is so grossed out that I've tried my own breaskmilk, lol!
I've done the wipe-it-up and lay a towel down thing with pee and spit-up...no poop...yet. :P
I have also been determined to carry both a diaper bag and my super cute new pocketbook, which has resulted in dumping each several times.
I've also worn my underwear and shirts inside out several times.
Ha! Me too! I would have never thought I'd be okay with this... but when you are SO tired in the middle of the night, it doesn't seem like such a bad idea!
And I wore two different flip flops out and about the other day before I realized it. Heh.
Poop on the bedsheets covered by a towel? Done it!
Bonked baby's head on the carseat? Yup!
I, however, am insanely good/bad at forgetting things for daycare: one day I forgot a bib, an extra outfit, diapers (fortunately he had enough there), & a wet bag for the diapers!
Inside out underwear.....oh that happens almost weekly!
My Mom gave me this weird twisted shirt thing for her, put it on and put a picture up on facebook of her in it. "That's on backwards" my mom commented. Great.
Dropped my phone on her.
JUST saw this on my FB feed and LOL'd even more than I should have because we were just talking about it here. Had to share.
Also thought of a new one... After getting stroller, DS, and diaper bag out of my car I've left my car keys on the roof of my car....twice. The first time I was shopping with my mom for over an hour before I realized it and we rushed to my car (still there). Second time I realized it in the first couple minutes and ran back to get them. *facepalm*
Oh gosh...I have done so many dumb things I am sure I forgot some of them.
Kept saying I needed to cut my nails and hadn't when I accidently stabbed DS in the forehead and made him bleed. He was crying and I felt so bad so in my rush to make him feel better, I put a bandaid on it... When I took the bandaid off, he screamed bloody murder. I felt AWFUL!
One day I put DS in his stroller while I shopped for just a few things. The automatic door at the front was swarming with people so I went out tge side door. I held the door open with My foot as I pushed the stroller out. My foot got caught and the whole freaking stroller flipped forward and hit the ground! I started panicking and when I picked the stroller back up, there was DS strapped in tight and fast asleep. Not the way I wanted to find out that my car seat works well.
Semi related: The first time DS projectile vommitted all over himself and me, DH was in the bathroom he takes forever because he messes around his phone while in there and I called to him freaking out. He kept saying, "he's fine, I'm sure it's no big deal and it's not that bad. Fast forward to the next night. DH is holding him and he vommitted ALL over DH and himself to the point that they both had to go straight to the bath. DH FREAKED out and all I could do was laugh and say now you'll understand bc that's exactly what he did last night! I swear DH never believes me about DS until he sees it for himself.
