DH's work schedule has changed so he can be home with DS in the mornings, until about 12:30 or so. We are pretty excited because we could save money by pulling DS out for the morning for just the last 7 weeks of the school year (I'm a teacher and home with him all summer)
DS is 3 1/2 and has been going to PreSchool since September. The learning part of the day is in the morning. So, if we cut our costs, he's losing out on this learning part of the day - but it could save us $75/week which is pretty substantial over 7 weeks.
What would you do? Do you thinks it's awful for us to pull his mornings now? We're in a pretty tight financial bind.
Re: need daycare/preschool thoughts
I agree with the idea that guided learning is a little overrated at that age, but at the same time I like suggestion of your husband doing constructive things with her that are similar to the day care learning activities. Little science projects and stuff like that. It actually could be really fun if YH is into it.
Thanks for your thoughts. I think DH will be happy to do some reading and crafts with him in the morning. I really like the idea of them doing some science stuff - maybe even outside nature stuff. I also agree that structured learning can be overrated for a 3 year old. They are learning everywhere they go and with everything they do.
Thanks again! I feel better.
