I am currently pregnant with my third child. My first two pregnancies were completely normal with zero problems. My doctor ordered an U/S last week to pinpoint my due date. Based on my last MP we thought I was around 8 weeks. (I had BFP on April 12 and had thought that I was pregnant for a little while.) We couldn't see anything on the U/S and they estimated that I wasn't quite 5 weeks. I had my beta levels checked on 4/25 (8800) and 4/29 (18000) so I know that those are great but I had some spotting and cramping that started on 4/27. The combination of the spotting/cramping along with the big difference in gestational age is freaking me out a bit (even though the nurse said that it is probably fine). Has anyone had these issues as well?
Re: Miscarriage threat or fine?
That is a little concerning.
When they say they saw "nothing", do you mean they didn't see a fetal pole and just a gestational sac? Because if they truly didn't see anything in your uterus, with numbers like that I would be extremely concerned about ectopic.
Honestly, only time will tell. If you truly don't know your dates then there is always a chance that things will turn out okay. However, if you are 8 weeks as you predict, then seeing nothing on an u/s is a very bad sign. Even old u/s equipment can pick up an 8w fetus' heartbeat.

OP, I am so sorry you are in limbo. As PP said, there are several scenerios where your dating could be off. I hope it works out for the best for you.
As to the above, I don't really see why you posted a question in someone else's thread without even saying anything about the original post. I find that kind of disrespectful.
As for your question, you aren't showing any signs of miscarrage. Symtoms fluctuate. It's normal. Also, family history of miscarrage doesn't really mean anything at all, unless someone closely related to you have been diagnosed with a genetic disease that causes pregnancy loss. A lot of doctors don't do ultrasounds ealry. Especially if you have literally no risk factors or warning signs of a problem. There really is no reason to.
I think you need to just relax a little, just because you haven't seen a heartbeat, it doesn't mean there isn't one. If you experience bleeding or actual sings of a miscarrage, call your doctor.
