Have you ever used the teething gels that stores sell? DD cut two teeth, although one only has a corner that cut the gum, the rest still needs to pop through. There are times where they really seem to bother her and she does not seem interested in the teethers from the freezer. Are the gels safe? Do they actually help?

We have the Hyland's tablets, but honestly I was unimpressed with them. We swear by amber teething necklaces. I was skeptical before we used one, but I changed my tune! DS was fine with teething (seriously it was like nothing was going on and then a new tooth would pop through), but then he hit the 1 year molars and holy moly! It was a rough time. Anyway, I picked up an amber necklace and it really seemed to make a difference.
I already have one for DD. Not that we needed a new one, but I really wanted a yellow-ish one for her. I don't know why, just because

I actually picked mine up locally (it was an emergency!), but pretty sure it's Inspired by Finn. DS wore it constantly for a loooong time and it's still in good shape so I would definitely recommend that brand as far as quality goes.
