Bugaboo Cameleon 3 vs Uppa Baby Vista

Hello all!! I need help deciding between the two. I am leaning more towards the vista since it holds babies until 50lbs. Where bugaboo is only 30lbs. And Vista also lets you add a seat for a second baby where bugaboo doesn't. Vista is kinda on a heavy side, and I just really like how bugaboo looks, it has that sleek modern expensive look. Vista fabric is a little cheaper. What do you guys think? How did you decide on a stroller?

Re: Bugaboo Cameleon 3 vs Uppa Baby Vista

  •  i was between these two as well.

i like bugaboo more. the vista material looks cheap and stains so easily and a pain to wash. bug you throw into the wash. i like how it looks too.

vista has pros too like 1 piece fold and bigger bassinet also its higher seat which is nice, but i think the bug looks nicer than the vista so im going with it.

the buffalo should be coming out soon, i would want that one if i can get it before LO arrives.

    gl with your decision!

30 lbs is not going to get you a lot of use out of it.  Mind you my DD just hit 30 lbs at 2 1/2 but she is a string bean and still rides in a stroller and will for awhile.   I have the UBV and I love the versatility of it and all the accessories that come with it.    The fabric wipes up well, I never thought of it as cheap.   Also the basket underneath is HUGE and has been awesome.  I can hold two bags of groceries in it.

For a double I just got the bumbleride indie twin.  I wish UB would make a sidebyside double.

  • According to Bugaboo's website, the Cameleon is good for infants/toddlers up to 37.5 pounds.  It is not definite the Buffalo will be released in the U.S. (so don't hold out for it).  :)

I, too, have considered both the Bugaboo and UppaBaby.  I think they are both fine strollers, but like you, I much prefer the sleeker look of the Cameleon and its fabric, and know that is the right stroller for me.  Judging from your original post, it sounds like you want the Cameleon. ;)

ETA:  If you think you will have more children, you could always go with the Bugaboo Donkey.

I was also betwee the bugaboo cam and the UB vista...what sold me on  the vista was how much higher the seat was. I'm 5'7" and with the bug I felt like I had to hunch over to reach the baby, especially in the bassinet. The vista seat was a much more comfortable height for me. I also like the 1 piece fold and the huge basket. Also, while I would have been willing to pay the price for a bugaboo, saving a couple hundred dollars and getting the vista wasn't too bad either! I do agree that the bugaboo is a more clean, tailored look though. If I were shorter, I probably would have gone with that one!

  • We chose the Vista for the large basket and all the included accessories - I was at the grocery store when my son was an infant daily and it was so easy to bring a ton of stuff home on our walk.  Our son is turning 3 soon and the fabric has held up extremely well so I don't think it is cheap at all.

What I didn't realize would be such a bonus was the seat height.  It was so nice to wheel him beside me in restaurants and he was at the same height.  Even as he got older, we would use his tray and keep him in his stroller rather than use the restaurant high chairs because he was at table height already!

If you're going to be doing a lot of walking, it is great.  If you'll be folding it up a lot to take it in the car, it is heavy!!

  • I considered both options as well with my first. I ended up getting the vista. I love the basket and seat height. I also find it much easier to have a one piece for closing. The other things that sold me on the stroller is that the vista has an adjustable foot rest and a peek a boo window on the sun shade.

These two were in our top three choices, but ultimately we went with Or.bit G2. I like the appearance of them all, but if I had to decide between the Bugaboo and Vista, we liked the feel of the Vista more.  To decide, we considered where the strollers are manufactured, quality of materials, ease of collapsing and ease of ensuring proper mounting of seats to the stroller base and car seat base.

  • For me being able to keep the seat attached when folding the stroller sold me big time on the UBV.

I have washed the seat fabric 2x on my UBV and it wasn't that hard. I also think the fabric is quite nice on mine.

The weight of the UBV is not a big deal to me as I don't use it in the car. It is a house stroller. I use it mainly for walks from my house. I sometimes load it in the car, but that is rare. It stands up on its wheels when folded, and I like that a lot as it fits against the wall in my small entry way.

To me that UBV has very much a sleek modern expensive look. But hey, I am biased as that is what I bought.
