What size shoe does LO wear?

Mobile: What size shoe does LO wear?

I recently ordered a pair of sandals for DD online and was shocked when I tried them on her and her big toe stuck out.  So I took her to Stride Rite today and got her measured.  She's a size 7!!!  She's tall for her age though - in the 99th percentile.

Re: What size shoe does LO wear?

  • Wow!  Did she run through her sizes pretty quickly?  Growth spurts?

DD is still in a size 4 although I think we're pushing a size 5 pretty soon.  I noticed that just like clothing, brand sizes run different.  For example, DD has two pairs of sandals in a size 4 and in one pair her heel is starting to come off the back but in the other pair she's still got some room to grow.  It's hit or miss and so for shoes, I am reluctant to buy online.

Yeah, it seems like she went through sizes pretty quickly.  She was wearing 5 1/2 earlier this year and I just put her in size 6 recently.  I think the first pair of walker shoes I bought her were size 5.  She's been walking since 12 months, but I didn't have her in shoes consistently until around 14 -15 months.

On a different note, your daughter is adorable!!

  • C just got fitted at Stride Rite yesterday, and she's a 7 too!  I can't believe it.  Although she can still fit into a pair of size 6 Target sandals, so I'm thinking maybe Stride Rite shoes run small.

DS is a 51/2 WW.  I had him in wides at first because that's how he measured at Stride Rite, but it was always a struggle to get his foot in the shoe.  I took him back to have him measured again, and they said he's an extra wide because of the chub on the top of his feet lol.  There's less of a selection, but at least the mystery was solved!

  • He is wearing a 5W right now, but I bought him some shoes for summer in a 5.5 or 6 (can't remember!) because the 5s seem to be getting a bit snug.

Wow - a 7? My 3 year old wore 7s all winter (she's in an 8 now). She's always had kind of little feet, even though she isn't short (75%). DD2 is in 5s with lots of room to grow.

5 or 6 depending on the shoe.  His shoes are size 5, but his toes were poking out of his size 5 sandals so I moved him up to a size 6 and they fit perfectly.  Also size 6/7 Crocs that don't stay on very well.  I saved a couple pairs of gender-neutral shoes from DD and he's about a year younger than she was when she wore them.

  • Size 6 here. His converse 6s are getting tight but I bought flip flops in 7 and they are too big and fall off.

Thanks RizziB! She's my little doll!

  • DS is a 7 too! I was so surprised about a month ago when I went to buy sandals for vacation! The 6 was too small!

Crazy how fast they grow :)

  • DS is rocking size 8 right now. This did not come as a surprise to me though as his first pair of shoes was a size 4. He's also in the 99th percentile. Just a tall growing boy!
  • size 7 is crazy for me to even think of right now!

Onnie is a size 3 but if they made a 2.5 that's what she really probably would be.
