I'm only 5 to 6 weeks along and am feeling shortness of breath. Anyone else noticing this? Not sure if this is even a symptom of pregnancy this early bit it kicked in around a week after I got my BFP!
I am 5-6 weeks also and have been having the same thing! Mostly going up and down stairs which is totally out of the norm for me since I'm an avid runner (except these past few weeks I can't seem to get the motivation to get off the couch). Glad I'm not the only one haha
Totally. I just sit there and then suddenly I will be short of breath. We had a girl at camp once who we realized was pregnant because she was having trouble breathing. First I had heard of it.
I'm wondering if it's because of our increased blood supply. We have more red blood cells (which carry oxygen) and so we need more air to keep them happy? I don't know, but it sucks.
I get that throughout. It has already started. Last time straightening my short hair would get me so out of breath I would either have to go take breaks in the middle or sit on the sink to finish.

Lurking from July 2013: your body is ramping up blood production for the next few months you'll have an extra two liters of blood by the time you deliver. It is your heart working overtime to circulate the extra blood.
I highly recommend the book "1000 questions about your pregnancy". It is very informative written by an OB and explains the science behind everything.
