... did you purchase all of the items you needed at once? I'm afraid if I choose a convertible crib, by the time I want to convert it into a day bed or full size bed, the railings and other parts needed wont be available. What are your experiences? TIA

we didn't buy it all at once and our store went out of business. i was able to order it online, but had to pick it up at a store 2 hours away because the manufacturer doesn't ship directly to customers. if i did it over again, i'd definitely get the toddler rails & full bed conversion at the same time as the crib.
Yes! My sister chose not too thinking it wouldn't be a problem to find the pieces and then she had to buy a different bed for my nephew. She ended up only getting a twin size bed and then still rigging the headboard piece to it and it looks crazy, because it was made to be a full size headboard and bed.
We bought everything at the same time, just in case. We ended up getting DD a toddler bed which she'll use while LO2 is in the crib. I suspect we'll then switch DD to the convertible (as a twin) when LO2 is ready for the toddler bed. I'm glad we have all the pieces now.
Nope. Ours came with the toddler bed conversion and I doubt we will ever actually use it as a double bed so we didn't buy those pieces. In a child's room, DH and I thought that floor space outweighs a bigger bed, so we'll just buy him a twim once he outgrows the toddler bed.
That is a good point. We just purchased a home and while these rooms are HUGE the next place we move to may not be so large. We are a military family so moving a lot is engrained into our lifestyle so considering the size of the bed was a good point to bring up. Thanks!

We bought the toddler rail conversion, but it just never came in so we cancelled that part of the order and got our money back. I think we can still convert it, as it did come with an extra piece, but we haven't tried that.
DS loves climbing, so when he showed he could at least get himself stuck halfway in and halfway out of the crib, we decided to get a toddler bed from target. Just because he wouldn't HAVE to climb doesn't mean he WOULDN'T have.
