Hi January Mommas,
I am feeling a little burnt out this week and need some creative ideas for keeping my 14-week-old entertained and stimulated. We take walks, read, play on the activity mat, and sing songs together. Can you give me any of your ideas to mix things up a bit?
Also, when did your LO start taking longer naps? My son usually takes 45 min naps every hour and a half or so.
Thank you.
Re: How Do You Keep Baby Entertained?
We do the same things as you. I also will sit him in his bouncer with a few toys that he can grab (Oball, rattle, plastic links). Often he likes to watch his brother which I am grateful for. We recently started using the jumperoo, and he enjoys that. I try to spend at least 3-4 hours outdoors with the kids each day. When we do that, he is either on a blanket, in my arms, or in the stroller.
As far as naps go, I think that DS1 started taking 2 longer naps a day around 6-7 months. Cole is not a napper, and 45 minutes is a long nap for him.
A jumperoo is a good idea. Also, getting outdoors more often is a great idea for me, LO, and the dog. I feel so stagnant.
Thanks for the activity/nap feedback.

i try to do all different kinds of things with him. he loves his play gym and his johnny jumper/bouncer. but we spend lots of time looking in the mirrors and walking around the house and ill tell him what room were going into and the different things in that room. just different things to keep him entertained lol!
and your lucky you get the 45 min every so often. im lucky to get a half hour a day! LO hates taking naps
Yeah, and here I was hoping that he would sleep longer. ;-) Sorry!!

try joining a mom's group. we are in one with babies under a year and he is extremely entertained by the older babies! plus it helps you feel a bit more human again!!
