Christening Etiquette

DS is having his Christening in NY the day after his 1st birthday. His Godparents are flying from SC to attend the ceremony and they will be signing the certificate making them official Godparents. Is it proper etiquette for me to buy them a Godparent gift? I'm curious to know what other Moms have done, I'm not sure about this type of thing.

    I'm not sure if you're supposed to or not.....I took nice family picture of the godparents and baby at the christening.  Afterwards I made it into a plaque on Shutterfly and gave it to them as a thank you.  So, I didn't have a gift for them ahead of time.

    I gave both godparents a gift at DD and DS's baptism.

    We did not give the godparents gifts at DS's Baptism but if you want to, I think it's a nice idea.

    FWIW, when I was asked to be a godmother, I was thrilled just to be asked! No gift necessary. : ]
