Anyone still on bottles? And a sippy rec

Operation No More Bottles is in full effect!

He was really pissed off this morning when I handed over a Sippy.  I think he drinks faster from the bottle and with the sippy he takes his time.  Over an hour and he hadn't drank the 8 ounces of milk he normally slams in 10 minutes.

Sippy Rec is the Playtex Insulator Cup.  They are on sale for $6 at Target (you get two).  I bought 4 and I may go back and get another set for later when these wear out.

My kiddo hasn't mastered the straw.  He can drink but it's still too fast for him.  These are fantastic and they don't leak!  But they do hurt!  He accidently hit me with one.

  • We use these, you can take the stopper out until he gets used to it.

Ugh klutzygrl26, good luck!  I remember our Pedi asking us to drop the bedtime bottle but his last bottle was around 4.  So we didn't have that issue.

I hear that one is the worst to cut.  I'm going to make the a.m. sippy less and less ounces so that he can drink with his meals.  It'll be so nice not having to get up and make a bottle every morning!

nebraska84 - looks like they might be very similar except the grip shape.  The ones we use have a stopper too. You can use it without the stopper it just leaks.   His cousin had one and my kid picked it up and started drinking from it so that's when I knew he was ready.

  • We're still on bottles...and I'm not in any rush to get rid of them Embarrassed We're pretty sure she's our last baby so I don't want to rush her (or is it me? lol)

We're still doing bottles here too. Aria takes one before her nap and one before bed. We tried weaning, and it was a disaster. We'll try again in a few weeks. For now, I'm content to give Aria a bottle and let her be a baby for a little longer. Smile

  • We still have the PM bottle only.  She won't go to sleep without it.  I have cut back how much she gets but I'm just trying to get her to STTN so I don't know if I want to mess anything else up yet.

  • Yup, she gets a bottle when she wakes up. I'm gonna try to get rid of it this month.

Ugh.... she still takes a bottle when she wakes up in the morning and before going tosleep at night. I think we could drop the AM one no problem, but I'm dreading dropping thepm

us too and the bottle is seriously baby crack. He seriously gets this evil laugh going when you bring a bottle into his line of vision with his tiny little hands grabbing for it until you're close enough. It's crazy.
