Early riser

Anyone have a trick to getting your little one to sleep in. My DS keeps getting up earlier and earlier, it's getting close to 6am is interrupting his big sis sleep.
He goes to bed between 78, and does not seem to sleep in even if it is a late night. He is not the best napper, but we usually get in one 2 hour nap.
Love some tips!

Re: Early riser

  • I have no tips, as you described my daughter to a T. She is up about 6:15, takes one 2 hour nap, and goes down between 7 and 8. I wish she would at least sleep until 6:45 when DH'S alarm goes off!

  • Sorry, I'm no help either.  Allison wakes up around 5:15 right now.  On a good say she makes it to 6:00.

From everything I've heard/been told, some kids just wake up early.  Not much you can do about it.

  • Also, going to bed late makes Allison wake up earlier.

Have you tried doing an earlier bedtime?  That seems to work for a lot of people...

  • My kid used to sleep until 10 most days.

    Now he wakes at 8.

    Sometimes even earlier.

It makes no sense because he is SO cranky. He's also been going to bed earlier, and I Think he is getting ready to go from 1 nap to 2. But I'm not too sure ATM because he is cutting 4 teeth, and sleep has just been all over the place lately.

  • My son used to sleep until 7:30 and now it's 6-6:30.  Everything I've done to change it doesn't work. :(  It stinks, but I just go with the flow!

Have you tried an earlier bedtime?  I know it seems crazy, but sometimes when kids don't get enough sleep they get overtired and wake up too early.  Nolan's sleep was a nightmare and we used a sleep consultant.  She had us move his bedtime from 8:30-9 to 6:30-7.  At first, he was waking up at 5:45, but now he sleeps until 7 most days.  Good luck!  I know how challenging sleep can be!!!
  • I feel like they go through these phases where they will wake earlier for a while and then go back to normal hours. K did that from 911 months and I solved the problem by giving her a bottle around 5amish. Now she is back to sleeping till 7 or 8 on a good day but every now and then will wake betw 66:30. i just leave her to herself till I am ready foe her. Pushing bedtime to later never worked for us. She still woke up early or as now, at her normal time.
