NonBF I feel bad

I realize my kids are very lucky we are going to Disney in a few weeks but I just found out DS will miss his first Field Day when we are in the trip. I had no idea they did it four weeks before the end of year and I thought we were safe from the end of year stuff. We are going with my Mom and using her timeshare so where is no other week we could go. We already said we are not going next year and now I am realizing why people don't pull their kids. It is not only about academics! At least he does not know what he is missing since it is his first:

As a side note I would love to go for their birthday one year when it is slower and decorated for Christmas but I will have to see if they are ok with that before we ever did it and we are probably talking three years or so from now.

  • Don't feel bad. DS may be missing something fun at school but he is going to Disney! I think most kids would pick Disney if they had the option.

Our kids still have no idea we are going to Disney this summer. DS1 is going to have to miss his Cub Scout float trip. He is really excited about it but I don't feel at all bad about him missing it because it's Disney!

Disney outfuns field day for any kid.nbsp; Don't feel bad. When it's decorated for Christmas, it's AMAZING.nbsp; We had such a good time.

Thanks ladies. Like I said the good thing is he does not know what he is missing at least. I probably would not feel bad if he was not the kid that wanted to do everything the school does. I had a conversation with the kids on the way home tonight saying I so not know if they will miss anything but of they do to remember we are lucky to go to Disney and for then to spend quality time with my Mom for a full week. And I realize this sounds spoiled and ridiculous but no one wants their kid to miss fun time at school either

And I can only imagine how awesome Disney is for Christmas. It is a goal of mine especially to be in Magic Kingdom for their birthday.

The first week of December is the best time to go - the Christmas decorations are up but the lines are basically non-existent. We've gone several times during that time of year & it's AMAZING!

  • The only time I like Disney is in the winter with all the Christmas decorations. It's my favorite time of year for it. I hope you guys get to do that sometime!

DS will have other field days. It's okay, don't beat yourself up too bad!
