1 year since bringing her home...and we have a walker!

Adalyn started walking Monday night!  Since then, she has been a walking machine!  She had been a stepper for a few weeks, but would never stand up from a sitting position on her own without pulling herself up on something.  She also never took more than about 10 steps before falling to the ground.

However, this past Monday night, after her bottle and right before she went to bed, she decided that she was going to walk around our kitchen/living room and make about 17,000 trips around!  I got on FaceTime with my family and DH and I were on both of our iPhones showing everyone this little walking machine!

Today she was pretty much choosing walking over crawling places, and she has really improved walking with shoes instead of just barefoot.  I just sat on the floor today and was overwhelmed at seeing her walk on her own.  It was a year last Friday that we brought her home from the NICU after her 83 day stay.  I am just so thankful that she is doing so well when everything looked so bleak back then.

She is also a babbling machine.  DH has started calling her "Babalyn".  She is so expressive with her babble, you feel that she's the one who is speaking a language and it is you who doesn't understand.  She is so full of vitality and personality!

We go for her 15-month appt next week, a day before her original due date, and will get an official weight/height, etc.  She is still small, but she's on her own growth curve.  She is closing the gap in her development and is about 2 months behind (instead of 3.5 months).

Here's a pic of our little tenacious Adalyn!
