Wonder Week....

Why do they call it this, when it is more like a wonder month??!?!  Sheesh, I am dying!

Last night he was up from 12-12:30/ 2:30-3:30/ 3:45-4:30 just screaming bloody murder :(  I'm pretty sure it's from him trying so hard to walk, and some teething mixed in, but I miss my great sleeper.

Woof!

  • I haven't slept since month 7 haha. And she hasn't started teething yet! Like pp said, we have had so many new milestones I am not surprised that she isn's sleeping well.

  • Do you ladies just rock your LO's back to sleep?  Do you think giving in to that will cause them to always want that?  Or is it just like "one day" it goes back to normal once the skills are mastered?

I know, freaking out questions, but I keep going back and forth on what to do when he wakes up.

I rock P to sleep and I let her drink her bottle to sleep. If she wont go back to sleep in the night I rock her and feed her until she does. If THAT won't work she sleeps in our bed until she is good and asleep, then I carry her back to her bed. I dont worry about habits or anything like that.

ETA: I think that sleep and sleep patterns are very dynamic and they change as a child grows, learns, gets sick etc. and for me it important that I respond to her needs in the night as much as I would in the day. The habit I do want to have stick is "mom and dad are right here all I have to do is ask" I know lots of moms swear by other methods and they are all good methods but this is how my DH and I have decided to deal with night time. But I miss sleep... SO MUCH!

i have been rocking him back to sleep at night after giving a bottle... i also pat him down if the rocking doesn't work... it is VERY frustrating because he hasn't taken a bottle or been rocked back to sleep in months...

i definitely feel as though i may be creating a habit, but then again... the other night he STTN. it has been very inconsistent. some nights he is up multiple times and some nights i don't see him until morning.

  • I just posted about this on the 9-12m board.  DD is still sleeping through the night but wakes up 1-2 hrs earlier in the morning even though shes still sleepy and our main problem is she fights sleep at bedtime and naptime so bad!  Bedtime is getting better (its been a month!) but naps are horrible! We have always nursed/rocked to sleep but now thats shes older she just doesnt fall asleep on me anymore. So i lay her in the crib and she plays, fusses, cries for an HOUR before falling asleep. Driving me crazy lol!
