VBAC

I almost caved.

I almost opted to get the RCS when another OB offered it at my practice, because I am physically drained, and my body is just wrecked. I do not remember feeling this way with DS. I restrained from taking the offer, because I am slowly remembering how much the recovery/post-op infection sucked.

Only a month left at the max, I can make it right? Huh? lol.

Re: I almost caved.

  • I was thinking the same thing this morning. I have outgrow my clothes and feel like my skin is going to explode. Almost thought about agreeing to a RCS at 39wks but I know I will regret it for a long long time. Hang in there!!!!

  • You are both soooo close!!  And you're right - it is absolutely worth it to stay the course.  A little pain now, is totally worth being able carry your kids around later.  And even if you end up with an RCS later, your baby will thank you for not evicting them too soon.

    Good luck!

This exactly. That is the reason I just said no, but I wanted to so bad. And then I thought about that recovery Indifferent

  • Right there with ya :) Hopefully a month is all that's left! but don't cave! you know you can do it! I don't remember being this tired with my first.
  • You can do it!  And, you never know a month could turn into 2 weeks (like in my case).  DD was born via VBAC 2.5 weeks early and really surprised me.  You can stick it out and it will be completely worth it.  I am 3 weeks post-delivery and feel wonderful.  I have been carrying around my 2 year old for a week and a half...that has made it all worth while!!!  Good luck!

  • I feel your pain and I am only 33 weeks, extremely uncomfortable. This baby is sitting so low, with DD she was in my ribs the whole time. I saw my OB last night and she actually talked me in to holding out. So here I wait.

  • I feel ya!  I am 38 w 1 day, and if I have not gone into labor by my due date, they say they will schedule me a C-section.  Part of me is saying "come on little man lets go already!" and part of me is saying "Ok, lets just schedule the section!"  But then I think about the forced smiles through the bloating and morphine, the horror of anticipating sneezes and coughs, the trouble getting my milk to come in and breastfeed successfully, and the overall malaise of recovery over the extended period of time.

    You can make it!!
  • You can make it! I felt exactly the same way the day I turned 39wks. But DS came at 39 wks 2d. I'm so glad I held out, my vbac recovery was nothing like my c/s recovery.
  • Like others said, baby may come close to 39 weeks.  In my case, DS was 2 weeks early.
