Chipmunking food

Is anyones LO hiding food in their cheeks!? The last few days DD still has had food in her mouth up to an hour after a meal! I cant tell from the outside, but when she laughs I can see just how much she has stored up. Any ideas how to encourage her to swallow her food?

  • Give her water every once and a while during the meals? It may push down the stored food.

My nephew was the same way...

  • LOL at "chipmunking". Thats an awesome term for it. Elliot does this sometimes, if we're giving him sips of water or juice he'll swallow it all though.

DS tries to do this with eggs. I double check his mouth before giving him more.
  • I do have to push more water during meals. I will try a new approach at breakfast. What a sneak!

  • My daughter doesn't do this w/ her mouth but w/ her hands.  Especially cheese! She'll grab like 5 cubes and hold them in her had and feed herself w/ her other hand.  She'll be playing later on and eating  something and here its warm, soft cheese!!  She's a crazy kid! LOL!
