Good Morning, Ladies!
Welcome to the Healthy Living Check-In! We're just a group of women who are striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise, or anything in between. If you're new, feel free to jump in and join us! We check in on Mondays and Wednesdays, with an accountability follow-up on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!).

Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it?s set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you?re using MFP and haven?t found us yet, let us know so we can friend you! I personally don?t log on to MFP daily because the diet I follow doesn?t require me to count calories. I do however check it daily and can be found by my email address: ashleym@accnorwalk.com.

If you?re interested in participating in the TTCAL Healthy Living board on Pinterest, please either include a link to your page in your post, or send it to me in a PM so I can add you! The more, the merrier!

Let?s hear it!
THE GOOD:

THE PROUD:
THE PLAN:
Question of the Day: What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Re: *~*Healthy Living Check-In*~*
THE GOOD: I made it to yoga yesterday afternoon...
THE BAD: I have been eating crappy and didn't do my squat challenge yesterday. I started taking progesterone suppositories Monday at 4 DPO and they are making me feel crappy!
THE PROUD: Even with crappy eating I lost 1/2 a pound.
THE PLAN: Try to keep up with the squat challenge and make it to the gym a few more times this week.
Question of the Day: What is your favorite outdoor activity? I really like hiking!
BFP# 2 3/9/13: EDD 11/12/13 m/c 3/15/13 @ 5w3d
RPL testing shows one copy of MTHFR gene mutation.
My rainbow baby Isaac has arrived!
Woohoo for cream cheese! Haha I love cream cheese and I think I'd go crazy if it just wasn't available to me. lol
I would count baseball games as an activity.
I never said it had to be a PHYSICAL activity. haha
Great job going to yoga. It's so hard to workout/ eat clean when you're feeling like crap! I hope you start feeling better soon. Since you didn't do the squat challenge yesterday I would just skip your next rest day then to keep you on track.
THE BAD: Someone dropped off a huge jar of candy to my office yesterday. I only had two mini candy bars but it's not good to have that around.
THE PROUD: I did squats yesterday. Although I always feel like I'm doing them wrong.
THE PLAN: Keep posting on MFP as that seems to help me be consistent, limit sweets.
Question of the Day: What is your favorite outdoor activity? Walking/jogging. I also really enjoy laying out with a book although I usually coat myself with sunscreen.

The Bad: I didn't have time or space in our room to do a single one.
The Proud: I got out if the hotel and did a lot of walking to try to stay on it.
The plan...get back to my workouts tomorrow when I am back home!!
My favorite outdoor activity is probably walking around the lake. It is always do beautiful and there are lots of people and dogs and its always fun!!
Great job continuing to track your food, even when it's not good! It's good to hold yourself accountable like that. I think we all have a problem, or at least I do, with cheating. Once I cheat my diet just one time it seems to snowball into more and more cheats until my diet goes out the window altogether!
Oh no! Darn those candy givers! lol Try to avoid it at all costs.
Are you doing the squat challenge, or did you just do some squats? I'm only on Day 3 and they are rough! I don't know how I'm going to do 100+ lol. Although, I think my problem is I do REALLY deep, below parallel squats out of habit from CrossFit. If I try to do the normal-don't go-below-parallel squats anymore it hurts my knees.
THE BAD: DH and I have tickets to the bacon and beer festival this weekend.... enough said!
THE PROUD: I went out on my morning jog today even though I could come up with about a million excuses not to. Also, had our first softball game of the season last night and won!
THE PLAN: Jog every day, even if it's a short one, just get out there. Plan my meals because if I wait until I'm hungry to decide what to eat, I'm going to make a poor decision.
Question of the Day: What is your favorite outdoor activity? DRINKING, hahaha!
Seriously though, I love so many outdoor activities, it's hard to choose. DH and I are involved in a few local sports leagues. I love swimming, and anything involving the beach. But I really do love having a drink outside on a nice day!

Everyone is welcome
Hey, it's the the thought that counts, right?
lol I'm glad you were able to at least get out of the hotel room and get some walking in, good job! The fact that you were motivated at all to do any type of exercise while out of town is awesome!
I'm glad you're doing better with your eating, that's a big step in the right direction! I would try to get some workouts in now, if it's nice, if I were you. Something is better than nothing, even if your motivation does dwindle when it cools down some. Good luck!
Bacon and beer festival?! Oh my.. where do I sign up? Haha
Consistency is key when working out, good job! The healthier food choices will come in time.. just keep trying to make those healthy choices and it will get easier and easier!
I just automatically assume drinking is involved with all summer outdoor activities... haha! I'm an alcoholic.
.. just kidding... er.. kind of.
You're doing awesome mattsgirl! We all give in to a little temptation now and again, so I wouldn't worry about that. Keep up the great work with the squat challenge!! We're going to have the best butts and legs around when we're done.
lol
I'm sorry for CD1, AF is a b!tch and always makes me want greasy delicious-ness also.
Great job chopping up those veggies and preparing ahead! Try not to let AF get you too off track. If you can keep your diet under control, even without working out, you should still be able to feel a difference and see some results!
Awesome!! I wish I had a place around here to go hiking. Have fun!
I'm doing the squat challenge. I always feel like I'm not doing squats low enough though.

I can't really help you on that one without being able to see you actually do the squat. This is how I've gotten used to squatting thanks to CrossFit:
Which despite popular belief, is actually so much easier on my knees. I also feel the squat a lot more in my whole legs and butt.
Most people will tell you not to let your butt go past your knees. But I say:
to that.
I meant to do that, but keep forgetting. I'm going to have to remember to do that tonight!
Congrats on your good week, AshXRenee! And I'm sure you look adorbs in your bikini!
The Good: Well, I haven't gained anything! On MFP, my goal weight loss was 5.5. lbs...so I'm only 2 away from my goal weight. I've been going to the gym, but just sticking to the elliptical machine. Hopefully I can start running Friday or after! And of course I've been eating low fat, since I kind of have to.
The Bad: I have been indulging in a couple of glasses of wine with dinner. I think once I start running again, I'll be more tired after work so it'll help me calm down and get to sleep! Ideally I'd be drinking only on the weekend. I have been abstaining from liquor, just not in the mood for it really since my loss.
The Proud: Nothing I'm particularly proud of! Just trying to stay somewhat on track.
The Plan: Well once I meet with the surgeon on Friday (I don't know if my stitches dissolve or if he has to take them out - I definitely see some of them), I can start running and strength training again. Now that I'm nearing my goal weight, I think I need to start working on firming up. Legs are ok but my stomach and back area need work.
Favorite Outdoor Activity: I live in a great city - weather is always nice here and I have the beach, mountain ranges and dessert all nearby! Plus there's shopping and dining within walking distance. So I like being outside, but I usually stick to walking (some weekends we don't even get in the car), and sometimes hiking.
Congratulations on nearing your goal weight!! That is great! I hope your doctor is able to give you the all clear so you can start your strength training and running again. Keep up the great work girl, you are doing awesome!!
You can do it!! I've seen a few different ab challenges (a lot of them are posted on the TTCAL Healthy Living Pinterest Board).. I think I'm going to do one of those once I finish the squat challenge. I've already piled a lot of workouts on my plate and don't want to over do it by doing both challenges!
THE GOOD: I have been to the gym twice this week and plan on heading there right after this post
THE BAD: I am still recovering from the weekend, but I have been doing good with sticking to my WW point count and drinking tons of water.
THE PROUD: I have been eating my fruits and veggies like crazy! I'm really proud of this because veggies are really not my thing.
THE PLAN: gym today and tomorrow to walk on the treadmill and hopefully get that pesky 4 pounds off from the weekend and keep moving on down the scale.
Question of the Day: What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Playing with my puppy dog! We had such a fun afternoon together yesterday playing outside.
I wish I could be a dog...he really has a great life.
*8.31.16* mc @ 8 weeks DnC {genetic testing, new medications upon next pregnancy}
*7.17.16* praying everyday for my rainbow baby {progesterone supplements, blood thinning injections}
The good: I had a wake up moment last night when looking in a full length mirror in a store. NOT pretty.
The bad: After a stressful couple of days, I have definitely noticed some comfort eating.
The proud: I'm starting a pull up challenge I found on tumblr.
The plan: Eat right, exercise and be happy.
QOTW: My favorite outdoor activity would have to be having bonfires. I am such a pyro! I love everything about it, the atmosphere, the smell, the look roasted marshmallows, cuddling. ahhh. We may have to have one this weekend!
Yay for gym time! Great job with the workouts this week and getting right back on track. Those four pounds will come back off in no time. Keep it up!
Whenever I go shopping, that's usually a good motivator for me when I see myself in those mirrors. Especially if I'm clothes shopping and see myself NAKED in those mirrors... yikes.
I hope you're starting to feel better and destressed. Good luck with your pull up challenge!
PS I LOVE BONFIRES TOO!
