We got DS these Stride Rite Riff sandals in a size 7. I like that they are a bit more protective since we spend a lot of time fishing rivers where there are a lot of rocks.
I took theisens suggestion and hit up pay less. I got Lo a pair of Abby Caddaby sandals that are also water shoes. They're totally hideous in that little kid clothing way but since she can say "Pease Momma Abby Cabby shoes PINK" followed by weird excited grunting I bought them. I also got myself a super cute and comfortable pair of flats for like 20 total.
C got these Keen's for Easter. He had a hard time walking in them at first because he was used to the softer soled Stride Rite. He's only wore them 3x, and he's used to them now.

My mom bought H these hideous elmo bright red slip ons from there, of course she is obsessed with them. Thankfully they are still too big so I haven't had to let her wear them. Her current obsession is her 'pocks' (crocs), so she's been rocking the super dorky 'crocs with socks' look since it's still cool here. Her real sandals I got at the Stride Rite outlet, which seems to have a lot of the same stuff as the real store!

My kids have been rocking Crocs as their play shoes outside. I wasn't sure I'd like them (they were a hand me down for DS ) but I do and I ran to Once Upon A Child and got a pair for DD. They are great if they get wet, easy to wash and the kids can both get them on and off themselves.
I most likely will not be doing sandals this year. The Crocs are working perfect for now. I do want to get them a pair of water shoes though for when we go to the pool/water park.
I got him a pair of sandals from stride rite that are made from the same material as crocs, but in the style/shape of regular sandals. We'll probably use those for runing around outside and at the park and such. I'm planning on getting him a nicer pair of stride rite sandals to wear at other times.

How did I not know there's a Stride Rite outlet 10 minutes from me?!?!
DD has hand me down elmo slippers. They are sometimes the bane of my existence. but at least they're only for inside.
It's your lucky day The ones I got her a sold right now at the store for almost double-its nuts!

That's what DD wore all last summer. She will most likely wear those every day and then the SR sandals for when I want her to look a little nicer. Crocs are awesome for kids-it was so easy to wash them off from the playground yuckiness. They really stay on well even with all her climbing, running, etc. I'm definitely against them on adults, but on little kids they are great.
Gator has two pairs of these and they are my favorite. She also has a cheap Target pair, and I don't think they will last long because you can see the glue everywhere on them.
