My daughter just turned 1 year. We are trying to transition her from bottles to sippy cups. We have been offering her water in a sippy cup for several months now. However, she usually plays with it and doesn't want it. So we are struggling with trying to transition her to drink her milk from a sippy cup now. Any tips or suggestions? TIA

Re: Help- Bottle to sippy cup
We tried it one day and it worked. Then they got sick and wanted nothing but their bottles.
When they felt better I tried again and they HATED the sippy cups. I was worried I was going to be using bottles forever. So I just kept trying every few days.
Then on their first birthday I gave them milk in their sippy cups. They took it and we haven't looked back. It was just like POOF! one day they were ready.
So I guess in your shoes, I would have just kept trying every few days and eventually hope it takes.
Good luck!

we tried a few cups and now he is using one with a soft spout. This seems to be working fairly well. However he still plays with it. Once I think he is getting really good with this cup I think I will try the regular sippy cup again. But I agree with other posts....sometimes they just aren't ready and if you just keep offering it they will get it on their own.
Agree and thank you for saying that.
We are still transitioning. I almost think its me that thinks he still needs a bottle first thing in the morning, last thing at night and before naps. We started with a water sippy during meals. If they are thirsty, they will take it and figure it out. Then I started offering milk cups with snacks. Before naps will be the next place I go, but we will have to see
