So at my last appointment I was 35 weeks and my doc said I was already 3cm dilated. The more I read and research the more I hear about women being dilated for 3-4 weeks even with it being their 2nd baby also. My doc said that it could mean I go soon or that I could go to my due date (the 29th). I don't want her to come sooner than 37 weeks but I am SO uncomfortable and over being pregnant! I hate to complain because I know what a blessing pregnancy is but I'm tired, grumpy and uncomfortable. My last day of work is scheduled to be May 17th..financially I hope I make it till then because if not I'll have unpaid time off. I literally feel like a ticking water bomb LOL. Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: 3cm dilated at 35 weeks, trying not to get too excited.
I wasn't checked at 35 weeks, but at 36 I was 2cm, at 37 I was a tight 3cm and at 38 I was a solid 3cm. But baby is still high at -2 station. Originally doc was saying I prob wouldn't make it to due date and now it seems things have slowed. I guess you just never know, I have my 39 week appt. Thursday so I am hoping for progress!
I have the same due date and am also 3cm but this is my first pregnancy. I just spent the night in L&D with contractions. I am really hoping I can make it to 37 weeks (or beyond).
Im not sure being dilated at 35 weeks is exciting, but thats just me.
Ive been 4cm since 30w and it was scary. You still have 5 weeks to go. Id relax a bit.

3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
i think the average time is 41w 1 day. I wouldn't ask for an induction the day after my due date.
Op - this is exactly why I have yet to be checked. I don't want to son h ext few weeks thinking it could be anytime.

I have the same due date as you and haven't even been checked yet. I don't have any contractions and I know that dilation doesn't really mean much - you can walk around for weeks 3 cm dilated or not be dilated at all and go into labor that day.
I ALSO have the same last day of work! I just thought that was funny. I can't wait!! It's not so much as being uncomfortable, but the HEAT - I can't stand it! (California desert girl over here....mid 90s is kicking my ).

With both of my boys I was dilated 2 cm for at least 2 weeks and still had to be induced!
My doctor did even check me at yesterday's appointment because he said it's still too soon (I am 37 w).
.
Who are these people who are excited about the possibility of going early when they're not even full term yet?!?!? It's amazing how much I'm seeing that here!

Agreed. I'm not sure why so many women are excited about *possibly* going into labor 5 weeks early.
