Rock n play and swaddling

I have a question for those that use the rock n play. I planned on using this next to the bed for DD to sleep in for the first few months. We just recieved it at our shower and I put it together. I'm just now noticing that it has buckles/harness. We had also planned an swaddling as I've heard it helps LO sleep. My question I can I use both and just not buckle her in? Or is it one or the other? Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing! I posted about this a while back and BTDT moms have said they swaddled and didn't buckle the baby in and it was fine.

I don't buckle her in, she can't move or roll over, I just place in there swaddled over it

We used a swaddle and no buckle until he was about 3 months old. We continued to swaddle arms-only in the RnP until he was about 7 months and we used the buckle.

Yep, this. As soon as she got to the point where I thought she was capable of moving (well before she actually did) I transitioned her to the crib. Although, she was sick last week and I put her back in to help with the congestion and was able to buckle her in even though she was in a sleep sack. The sack was loose enough that I could put the buckle up the middle so it looked like the sack was actually pants. So if you are using a halo swaddle or another type that is loose on the bottom and you really want to buckle them in you can.

I swaddled and did not buckle. We only used the rnp sporadically for a few weeks and at that point he didn't move around that much while sleeping so it wasn't an issue. Some people use it for months and I could see how buckling in would be more important when they are older and stronger.
