This is a virtual baby shower!! No actual party will happen. Instead you are invited to mail in baby shower gifts to Mary's address during a week period. After the week is over a picture of all the gifts will be posted so that everyone can see!!

No. Skype shower is one thing, where theres an actual party on at least one end. But "hey, everyone send presents!" Is completely unacceptable.

My husband and I don't live near family or any of my close enough friends to even have a shower. So we decided registering would just be tacky. We bit the bullet and purchased our own baby things. I feel like people who truly want to help out will still send gifts/diapers etc... This just screams "pay for our baby!"

I agree with the PP who said no cake no presents haha.

I got an invitation to one of these a little over a year ago. The mom-to-be was one of my old coworkers that I had barely kept in touch with anyway. They obviously just invited all or most of her Facebook friend list. Needless to say, I didn't send a gift for that one.
