Driving

My doctor hasn't cleared me for activity and won't until she sees me may 1st. If you felt okay and weren't taking pain pills, would you drive?

    I drove at 2 weeks. I didn't have to be cleared, I just couldn't be on the pain pills.

    It's the pain pills that they are worried about and your ability to brake quickly if needed. I did not take anything but ibuprofen so I didn't need to get cleared. I drove about a week pp.

    They told me two weeks, but I drove at 12 or 13 days and not too far away. I'd been off the narcotic meds for at least a week at that point.

    I drove at 13 days but felt like I could have driven sooner. I only took ibuprofen after my c section and only for 5 days so I didn't have to worry about driving on meds either which is why I felt I could have driven sooner but DH thought I should wait. One of the rare occasions I listened to him. ;

    I drove after two weeks. I didn't have intense pain after two weeks and was not on anything stronger than ibuprophen as needed. So I felt comfortable with driving.

    I was told to wait 2 weeks, but drove at about 10 days. If you feel up to it, I think it's good for your sanity.

    I probably could have driven before 2 weeks (when I was cleared for that), but lifting and carrying the car seat would have been pretty taxing.

    I waited the full 2 weeks the first time but will definitely drive before that this time as long as I'm not on meds and feel okay.

    I waited until I was a full 48 hours without anything stronger than Tylenol.

    I was just told not to drive while on narcotics.

    My last OB saw me at 2 weeks and cleared me.

    This one won't see me until a month after delivery and told me that if I'm off the pain pills and can slam on the brakes, I can drive.

    Aside from the initial drugs in the recovery room I only took Advil and Tylenol around the clock for pain.  I drove sometime in the first 1-2 weeks I didn't get approval.
