Flying with injectable medications, any issues?

Well we are back in the saddle again! I spoke with my RE this morning and he would like to proceed with our #5 IUI cycle and not yet move onto IVF. I have some traveling scheduled during this cycle and just want to know if anyone has flown with injectables before? Is there any issue? Can you carry them on, or do they need to be checked? Do you need a perscription with you if you want to carry them on? How did you keep them chilled?

I have not personally flown with them but I will be in June. My nurse told me to keep them, along with my needles and syringes, in my carryon (last thing you want to worry about is the bag getting lost!). She told me they'd give me a note explaining that I needed to have vials/syringes/needles with me but that none of their patients have ever been asked to supply the note to the TSA. I didn't think to ask about refrigerating and she didn't mention it (I'll only be on Lupron at the time) so I can't answer that, sorry!

My mom has injections for diabetes and she flew fine. She put them in her carry on and just let the TSA agent know she was flying with medications and they were totally fine with it! I wouldnt check it though....way too much $$$ to chance them getting lost or ruined!
