Any recommendations for eczema because of allergies? Even though I am not eating gluten, dairy, soy and LO isn't eating solids, he still has bad eczema on his face and multiple trips to the dermatologist haven't helped...
Cerave body wash and the cream (the one in the tub, not the lotion). That's what the derm recommended and it really works. I've even started using it on myself. It's gentle, a great moisturizer.
DD2 developed eczema after I was already dairy and soy free. So I decided to cut out nuts as well, and her eczema cleared up a week later. You might play with your diet some more. I do think there is often a connection between allergies and eczema, but not always. I hope you can figure out the culprit, whether it's food, or something in LO's environment.

Ask dermatologist to prescribe dermasmoothe. Use only water in bath, daily. Slather on hydrolatum. Do diluted bleach baths once per week. Do wet pajamas if flare ups are horrible. Google this all and you will see how to do it, or ask dermatologist. This all and 12w dairy and soy free basically cured my son.
We have used everything in the market and nothing works. I'm tired of steroid and antibiotic creams. We are finding out DS has contact allergies to chemicals. The flame retardant on his car seat has caused sores in the back of his legs. So we got a Graco, thy don't use the bad one. Now we realized those foam play mats with alphabet on them have a toxin called for aimed. Say care covered them up with sheets and his eczema on face is leading up.. Such a slow process. Good luck!
We swear by Vanicream (it's like a thick lotion and can be found in pharmacy area at store but is non-prescription.) When my daughters flares up we did soaker baths. Warm but not to hot water and get them to lay down. Cover their skin with wet towels and if you can let the soak for 15-20 mins. Their skin absorbs the water. Right when they get out slather with lotion to trap the water. This was our saving grace and when my daughter was really young she would actually fall asleep in her soaker baths. I would sit on the floor next to her while she slept. She would be so cute because all you could see where her eyes and nose and the rest was covered up!
