I have a horrible cold that I think I have passed on to DS. He has a runny nose and is sneezing This is the first time he has been sick. Have any of your LO's had a cold and what have you done to help them? I will try a vaporizer. Any other suggestions or is there anything we can give them?
Absolutely get a cool mist humidifier. DD has had two fairly nasty colds where she couldn't suck and breathe at the same time (totally stinks if you have a paci addict) and the cool mist humidifier was essential.
We tend to alternate using the Nosefrida and the bulb aspirator to clean her nose out. The older she's gotten the more she's been willing to let me suction her nose. It's nice.
Other than that we don't do much.
This, except we don't have a Nosefrida (sorry, freaks me out!). We also try to keep the pacifier away (like ninthgirl said, hard with an adict!) so she can breathe through her mouth.
Thanks for the tips ladies! So far it hasn't been too bad...but we will see what happens. I have a Nose Frieda, but DS won't let me near his nose with it, or with a bulb for that matter. Not sure how you all get your LO's to stay put!!

At first we used two people. Basically pinning her down was the only way to do it. Once she was old enough to make the association between the aspirator and feeling better, I was able to do it myself.
What I don't get is the raised mattress. DD is so all over the crib in her sleep that she'd end up head down!
Same with DS. Not sure that would help us much. He is too unpredictable!
