It's fast approaching! What are your plans? Hoping for anything special (treat or plans)?

I'm making it easy on DH this year. I'm going to treat myself to something special at the hairdresser's. The kids will make a special card and that's all we're planning this year. My sister wants to get together and go into the city to some museum, then have a picnic. Still not sure about that. If everyone in the family goes, we're looking at 13 people!

Its my 26th birthday that day so I am very much dreading it! I told H not to get me anything for either since we are ttc and trying to save so hoping to just have a relaxing day with my family and his.

I will be spending it with my parents, so I need to figure out what to do for my mother. As for me, I doubt I will get anything since DH is still in Germany and won't be flying back to the States until the following Tuesday. Plus we are buying a new car so we really don't need to spend any money.

I'm not quite sure what we're doing, probably church and brunch. My little cousin who is battling cancer has a taken a turn for the worse, so I'm not even sure about that. Sad

We will probably celebrate on the saturday afternoon before with a visit to beautiful gardens that we have a membership to. Otherwise I am just hoping to be holding myself together as it will be less than a week after the due date for my first miscarried LO.

Not sure. I picked my own mother's day gift last year. So I told DH that he is on his own this year! Dh is working on mother's day, so I think DS and I might spend the day with my cousin. We'll see...

My aunt is taking my mother and I out to dinner for Mother's Day. SO sucks lol so that will be about it.

Girrrrl, I don't want to hear about it! I'm turning 30 the day after. Haha!

I ordered two more canvas prints for our living room as a Mother's Day gift for myself. I told DH I wanted flowers and a card from LO. Now that I think about it I also want take out. No cooking! I ordered a best nest necklace for each of our mothers.

DH has partial season tickets to the Twins and the look on his face was priceless when I told him one of his games fell on mother's day. I think we will end up going to the game and taking DD. She loves people watching and sitting outside on a nice day. If it's bad weather or too cold, then he can take his mom to the game and DD and I will go to the mall or something. I don't make a big deal out of it. DH will probably pick up some flowers and a card that morning, but we have a no-presents policy.

Ha ha ha ha ha! But it's great that you are a good sport (no pun intended) and would be up for going! (I would be, too.) (We have a minor league team here and I'd love to take DD but I'm not sure she'd handle it well.)

We don't officially have a no-presents policy (though I wouldn't be against starting one), but we are usually more about experiences than a physical, gift-you-open present. So spending time together as a threesome would be top of my list.

This year, oddly, we are spending it with my family - which we NEVER do because they live hundreds of miles away - BUT my brother is graduating from college so we are going to be together that weekend for that. I haven't even thought of the Mother's Day aspect of it. I rarely get my mom a present - only if I see something that really grabs me. (Can you tell I'm not into presents?? Giving or receiving. I sound like such a scrooge.) BUT I would love to enjoy a fun day with a nice meal and/or trip to the park/zoo where we'll be.

My husbands job has once again made mothers day suck for me. He has to be in court on Monday and will be working all weekend. So I've decided to drive home and visit w family. Plus I got invited to an ex students quincianera! I'm taking my sister w me and brother in law will babysit. Party, Mexican style! Doing brunch w DHs family on Sunday. Then driving back on Monday. I fully intend On putting pictures of what I want on the fridge. And I'm sure we'll go to dinner somewhere the next weekend.

DH is going to be deployed still so once again DS and I will spend Mother's Day together just him and me.
DH BETTER be home next year!! I will have two kids and will have been a mom for three years by that point!

We don't have any plans. I have a huge research paper due that day so I will probably still be working on it. I would just like FI to acknowledge it in some way (be it card, flowers, small gift, or even just saying Happy Mother's Day and that he appreciates the mother of his child). He didn't do/say anything last year and I was a bit hurt.
