Pregnant after a Loss

Inro ::Kinda:: sensitive?

Hi ladies.

I have been lurking here and on the TTCAL board. I still stick to the miscarriage board for the most part. You all seem to be a wonderful group of ladies and maybe one day I can join you one day. But for now I am just here in hopes that I can maybe get some hope put back into me.

My name is Katie. I will give you the shortest version of my story I can but apologize if it gets long.
I have now suffered two m/c in a row. My first one was back in November. I found out I was expecting in October and when I got my US I was amazed. There was not one, but two, beating hearts. I soared that day. It was amazing and not something I imagine I will ever forget. I went into the ER in November due to some vaginal bleeding. I should have been 14 wks. Instead during the US I discovered my babied had stopped developing in the first trimester. They measured 10 wks 4 days and 11 wks 3 days. There were no longer beating hearts. My heart broke that day. A couple wks ago I found out I was expecting yet again. I was constantly being reassured that multiple m/c was not something they saw very often. My HCG levels were doubling beautifully and the baby was measuring well. I let myself get excited. A WK ago I ended up in the ER due to vaginal bleeding once again. My HCG levels had declined significantly. I was having my second m/c. My DD for the twins is approaching. I was hoping to have this pregnancy to get me through that.

I apologize if I upset anyone with this. I guess I just want to hear that someone else who has had m/c back to back is now happily pregnant and everything is going well. I was going to post a couple days ago but this board belonged to a wonderful lady whom deserved it more then anyone. I wanted to give some time. I was so touched by the amount of love shown. It showed me just how beautiful each and every one of you are.
::HUGS:: to all.

Thank you for reading.

    I don't really have any helpful advice for you but that I know many stories of ladies with multiple losses who have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. I'm so sorry for what you've gone through and hope that you get your little miracle.

    I am sorry for your losses. I have only had one loss but it is not easy to get over. My dd for my m/c I had in Oct. is approaching in May. Although I am pregnant again I still think of that baby often.

    I am praying for you that everything will get better soon and I hope you will be a regular on this board, all of the ladies here are so supportive and helpful.

    Good luck to you as you recover and begin trying again.

    I'm so sorry for your losses. I don't consider my pregnancy a success yet, but will when I have my LO in my arms in September. However, I did have two miscarriages in a row. I'm now over 20 weeks with this pregnancy and doing well. After the second miscarriage I was referred to an RE for further work up of recurrent pregnancy loss. Sending you many thoughts and prayers.

    I'm so sorry for your losses.

    I suffered a miscarriage in June 2011 at 7w3d but it wasn't discovered until 10w6d. Then I had a second miscarriage in October 2011 at about 7 weeks, but the baby never developed at all.

    I wish I had gone for multiple loss testing with a reproductive endocrinologist right then but I waited because my OBGYN said I didn't need to unless I had 3 miscarriages. Almost a year later without being able to get pregnant again I finally did both recurrent loss and infertility testing with an RE. They didnt find any answers for me but I learned several things about my body in the process.

    After two losses, your chance of your next pregnancy resulting in a live baby is really good. I'm 22w along now. Good luck!

    I had two back to back (one in July 2012, one in November 2012), and am now almost 19 weeks. I won't consider this a success until I have a baby in my arms, but so far it seems promising. We had extensive testing done after the second, but nothing is wrong with either of us (of course, a good thing, but it was frustrating)

    I know it's the worst place to be, but I really hope for you that your nightmare ends soon, and that you end up here as well.

    Best of luck.

    In 2011 I lost three pregnancies in a row, including a twin pregnancy. Then, after RPL testing, assistance from an RE specializing in repeat loss, and a lovely variety of daily meds, I sustained my fifth pg in 2012, and had my rainbow baby in October. I'm now pg again, although in limbo at the moment. GL!

    So, so very sorry for your losses. I have no stories of my own, but a girlfriendwho has been a huge help for me through my loss lost four babies in three pregnancies in a row. When I met her she was 30 weeks pregnant and several months ago have birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl. It happens. I don't understand why some people experience loss like that. My prayers are with you.

    I am very sorry for your losses.

    I had three losses between DS1 and DS2, then another loss, now I'm 14 weeks or so with things looking good. It definitely happens.

    I would certainly encourage you to talk to your doctor about doing some testing, along with giving yourself the opportunity to grieve.

    I am so sorry for your losses. I have had two in a row. I'm now 9 weeks pregnant and hopefully this one sticks.
    I'd ask about loss testing. It is 20 some blood tests.
    I wish you the best.

    This is my 5th pregnancy, after 4 back to back losses. each pregnancy lasted shorter and shorter. I had RPL testing after my third. My testing revealed a variety of minor issues that with my RE's help we treated very aggressively medically through first tri, and I still take blood thinners. [though we still conceived without medical assistance] so far so good as I am happily still very pregnant at 23 weeks.

    Here are some helpful links for you:
    The TTCAL blog about RPL testing
    https://ttcalblog.blogspot.com/2012/08/recurrentpregnancylossrpltesting.html?m=1

    And here's a thread with lots of different success stories. Some got a specific diagnosis, some got diagnosed with "bad luck", and some didn't get any testing.

    I had 3 m/c over 2 years and I am now almost 19 weeks.  We had a great A/S last week.  I know how hard it can be and you feel like it will never happen for you but there are tons of success stories out there!  Have you talked to your doctor about Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) testing?   Also there is a check-in on TCAL for multiple-losses if you are not already a member I would definitely suggest that check-in!

    our stories are all a little different

    My first m/c was after my first IUI.  We discovered it was c/p, but not until I was about 5.5 wks.  That was May 2011 after we'd been trying for over a year.  It was nearly 9 months before I got my next BFP from IVF #1 December 12011 (another c/p).  Then a couple of month later I got a BFP from FET #2 in Feb 2012... this time an u/s confirmed I was pg with twins!  Then an early m/c at 6wks, followed immediately by a surprise BFP in April 2012, but another c/p.

    I finally got a sticky baby in August 2012.

    ((hugs))  I am so sorry for your losses, and I hope you find some answers soon.

    I had two back to back m/c and then in my third pregnancy I lost a twin but did deliver a healthy baby boy.   Now I am pg with my 4th pregnancy and am 8 weeks along- I will never get over the fear the m/c's have instilled in me but I am doing well so far.  Good luck to you.
