Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Solids....how many meals?

My LO has been on solids for about 3 weeks now, she loves them!  We do oatmeal (about 2TBSP)  in the am and veggies (2TBSP) around dinner.   My question is....would another serving be bad?  At daycare she is the only baby in her room not eating solids while there. Apparently she flips out when all the other kids eat. The provider asked if I would consider giving her some food there,

when so you typically start solids 3x a day?  I know she would enjoy it, she gets upset when she finishes what she has at home and has a healthy appetite,

thoughts?

Re: Solids....how many meals?

  • My little guy gets baby food 2 times a day. Both are given to him at daycare. He take him fairly early so they give him his cereal as well. He does really well with it. He's a hungry little guy.

  • It's more about how much BM/formula she is getting. If she still gets plenty of that I think you would be okay to add more solids. Plus, if you give 2T it's not like she's getting a ton anyway.

  • Thanks, her formula intake is the same....she just LOVES to eat!

  • We followed DD's lead with solids, but my ped said we should be doing 3 meals a day around 9mo.
