Hi ladies I need to vent and not be judged
I am very frustrated and feeling overwhelmed at the moment my issues is I am stuck at home on bed rest and my special needs toddler is regressing an having more meltdowns periods of screaming and she has started to bite again , my husband thinks it;s ok to feed her soda and every time she drinks it this happens I keep records of what she drinks and how she acts I have asked my husband not to give her soda but he doesn't think it's a problem , he's at work when she's having these meltdowns so he doesn't see the full effect it's having on her . If he wants to drink soda then he can just don't give it to our daughter as it makes her fly off the handle and become a Tasmanian devil.
Re: need to vent
who buys the soda? Is he going out in the morning before work, purchasing soda and then coming home to give her some?
I would video her meltdowns and text him or email him a video every.single.time. they happen.

I like the way you think Assembly.
I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time! I just finished 6 weeks of bed rest due to PTL and my DS1 has an ASD and is 2. There were days that were very difficult because he was off his normal routine. We don't allow him to have sugery drinks like soda, his sensory problems are bad enough without that. I would definitely record her tantrums and show your husband how badly if affects LO and have a discussion about why it is so bad.
Do you have family that can come take your LO outside for a while. It was hugely helpful when people would come get my DS out of the house so he could burn off energy and take care of his sensory needs.
We did survive and I now have DS2 which has brought its own challenges
Hang in there! It won't last forever!
Thanks. ;
OP this makes me standby for you. Especially since you are on bed rest. Ffs! Do we need to come over and rip him a new one for you?
I like the idea of having someone take her out for an hour or two to burn off some energy. Since you are home you could maybe get a mothers helper to come over after school to play with her for pretty cheap....
thanks for listening ladies
He has been giving her sodas with lunch today was his day off and he got to see the meltdowns for himself, I left the room and went an took a nice long warm bath while he dealt with her meltdown now he's agreed to not give her anymore soda .
I do have some take her and her brother out to the park to run and play .
