1st Trimester

Chiro

My hip had a tendency to pop out of place and lucky for me, this happened the week of my ivf transfer. I have not been able to go to the Chiro due to early pregnancy. I'm curious when it would be safe to go or if anyone has some safe, home remedies to help this?

Re: Chiro

  • My mw rec'd that i see a chiro in first tri, though it was someone who specializes in treating pg women.  If yours can't treat you in first tri, i'd ask your ob for a rec for a chiro they recommend.

  • I have been seeing mine since the day I got my bfp also. I was going 3x a week to treat serious scoliosis.

He changed how he adjusted me at first but now I'm back to pretty much normal adjustments. He has also commented on how limber my spine is thanks to the pregnancy hormones. I know he adjusted his wife throughout her pregnancies, they are have a toddler and baby at home, so I trust him.

This exactly - except my chiro's kids are older (but he did adjust his wife during her pregnancy).  I've been gong every other week since week 4 (well, was going once/month before then).

If your OB/RE has told you not to go, then you probably shouldn't, but if it's just your chiro who is uneasy working with pregnant women, I'd highly suggest finding one who is!

  • I've been going to my Chiro since before I was pregnant and I continue to go. It's healthy for you and the baby. It also boosts your immune system and will get your hips in shape for delivering. Not sure but I have researched and learned that it can help make delivery easier to go to a chiro while prego.

  • This may sound dumb, but have you tried laying on your side and doing leg lifts?

My hips, and several other joints, pop out of place easily and leg lifts have worked to get them back in.  This might just work for me because they go out and back in easily because of a connective tissue disorder.  Worth a shot though. =)
