Hi Ladies,
Has anyone ever had really low HCG levels and made through successfully?
I found out on the 22nd that I was pg, took blood test on the 23rd and my level was (25) took next blood test on the (25) it was 60 also took my first progesterone shot. Being that the 25 was a thursday I was unable to take another blood test until today and my level was (86) in 5 days it did not even double... This is my second pregnancy ( first ended in miscarriage) we have been trying for 3 years.... I am so scared, I can not loose this one!
Please be someone out there that can reassure me with their story!
Help!
Re: Low HCG levels ** Scared**
hello,
im kind of on the same page as you my hcg levels where 2699 then dropped to 992 then back up to 1690 and then dropped again. i know there's a range in hcg levels depending on how far along you are. my concern is why is my hcg levels low again. i have a friend that gave birth to a healthy baby girl and her hcg levels where rising slow throughout her whole pregnancy. just dont give up! stay positive thats what im trying to do now.! my prayers are with you
Agreed. I hope miracles are in your futures.
I don't know about them rising so little in 5 days. That is a little concerning. I do knw that my betas looked like this
51, 60, 130, 239, 578
They were all 2 days apart except for the 130 and 239. Those were almost a day and a half apart. Since then, I've had 2 u/s showing a growing baby in my uterus.
Honestly, as for the rising/falling betas, my best guess is ectopic. Those are the kind of betas you would probably see in that scenerio.
As for the slow to rise betas, as I said, in 5 days thats a VERY slow rise, and the way my doctor explained my situation to me is that there really isn't much information out there about very ealry pregnancy (before 4 weeks) so sometimes really early betas can be slow to rise, then pick up and result in a healthy pregnancy. That being said, 5 days is a long time, and likely puts you out of that "before 4 weeks" catagory.
I'm hoping desperatly that I'm wrong and that you both get good news. Suffering a loss is the worst pain imaginable.

I'm confused as to why your doctor thinks this is an ectopic. That looks like a good number for 5 weeks to me (especially if you're at the later end of 5 weeks) and with ectopics, you're looking more at a pattern of ups and downs:
30, 15, 45, 34, ect
Or consistant very slow rises
50, 57, 65, 72, ect.
There's not much you can tell from one number, and unless there are other factors that are making him worry, I'd say there's really nothing for you to worry about.

I just had my blood test to confirm pregnancy on April 30th. Results came back at HCG levels 34. They took more blood today and tomorrow they will call and let me know. They said they are looking for them to be around 80-100......I'm nervous.
Have already had one miscarriage and I am going to be devistated if this one goes wrong. Fingers crossed for all of us in these shoes. Let us know what happens, love.
