I recently got a highchair and want Benjamin to get used to it before we start using it for solids and whatnot. I was hellbent on him sitting at the table with us while we eat dinner but it hasn't worked out that way at all. DH is home by 6 at the latest. But LO is sometimes ready for bath and bed starting at 6:30. So it doesn't seem to be working out as I planned. Wow, I've used that sentence a whole lot in the last months. Haha.
Anyone else trying to do this? Or successfully doing it? We will start solids soon and I'm thinking if we push dinner up a bit, he can sit with us and have solids which should keep him fairly happy until bathtime.
Re: Dinner table
I haven't put much thought into making sure D eats at the dinner table yet. DH works 3rd shift and does not eat until he is at work, which is around 10pm. We normally spend most of our day upstairs in the bonus room so that is generally where I eat.
We have been doing a few purees, but I try to do them earlier in the day because sometimes they make him gassy and I'd rather him not be woken up all night long with gas.
