Sweet DH

Well, some of you might have read my LNCI about how DH was kind of unhelpful during the night with LO. I might have gone on a rampage where I complained about working full time, dropping LO off at daycare, which adds about 20 minutes to my trip each way, cooking dinner, making our lunches, doing laundry, etc. He has Mondays off, so I suggested that he could make a quick, simple, inexpensive dinner every once in a while.

I got home from work, and he was making steak, mashed potatoes, sauted green beans, and French onion soup. He also bought me flowers, wine, and chocolate cake. So sweet, but not exactly inexpensive, quick, or simple. And before I got there, he sliced his finger and probably should have gone to the hospital, but he definitely wasn't in any shape to do dishes, so I spent about 30 minutes doing that and all the daycare bottles.

So...I really can't complain because it was incredibly sweet and thoughtful of him. I sure hope his finger is ok. I feel embarrassed about bitching about everything, but hopefully moving forward we can both be more grateful for each other.

Re: Sweet DH

  • That's very sweet!! Leave it to a man to make something simple into something way more complex than necessary. Haha.

  • That's a great surprise! I feel his pain, I manage to gouge my finger with a butter knife the other day, those things aren't sharp enough yet I managed.

It's amazing how when DH does one nice thing and things get so much better!
  • That's so nice of him. Sometimes they do listen to us when we talk!!

I'm glad you had a great dinner.
