Stars post got me thinking about G and I. At this point G is an extrovert. He likes people and is effortlessly charming. I am an introvert and so is my DH. We don't know where G came from. Lol
J is just like me and K is just like daddy. I can tell the way he thinks (very geometrical) and the way he acts is a lot like how I am, pretty outgoing and totally a ham around friends. K is pretty calm and watches for a while before participating. Just like H she is really funny and silly but only around close family, very shy otherwise. She'll smile at strangers, like at the store, and doesn't freak out but doesn't chat or wave. J will talk to anyone and everyone.
All three of us are introverts, at least by the MBTI definition, we get our energy from alone time. DS can be quite charming sometimes, but I've noticed that after we've had a busy day with a lot of interaction, he tends to do a lot more quiet, solitary activities (and he's a pretty independent player to begin with). I can definitely notice when he's just recharging his energy.
It's actually kind of nice, because we're the kind of family that can all be perfectly happy just sitting in the same room together, puttering around with our own projects, not necessarily talking but just being together.
I'm an introvert and DS1 is definitely like me. He definitely prefers to play alone most of the time. He's very organized (as much as a 2yo can be) and very cautious about trying new things the first time or two. DH always jokes that J may look like him, but his personality is all from me.
So far DS2 is definitely not as careful and cautious. This kid just has to be moving at all times and has major separation anxiety - very unlike DS2!
I am an extrovert around everyone, my H is an introvert, but with his friends and family he is extroverted and chatty. I see A as being like my husband. He is an introvert to the world, but he is very chatty and bold with our family and close friends. I have a feeling B will be more like me, because he is constantly smiling and flirting with everyone. He loves it when you look at him and make faces and interact. Alexander was always more content to be playing on his own and never even minded if I left the room.
My H hates that I talk to absolutely everyone. I'm definitely that person that will insert myself into conversations. In college, I would always "make friends" on the bus...I hate just sitting quietly by myself. So I would get off the bus and say bye to someone, and my H would say, "Who's that?" and I would just say, "Oh someone I was talking to, I don't even know their name."
H and I are both extroverts although we do enjoy our alone time. Ava is definitely an introvert until she gets comfortable around people (which takes a long time). Too soon to tell with Mila yet!
Hazel is an extrovert. Very social and chatty. She can make friends with anyone. FI are more introverted home bodies. I don't know where hazel gets her crazy outgoing side, but I like that her personality forces me to be a little more social too.
I am loud, confrontational & type A personality, BUT I hate talking on the phone, or being in social gatherings of people I don't know.
MH is quieter & calmer, but is a social butterfly. He has no problem striking up conversations with strangers.
DS doesn't have social anxiety, but he does take a minute or two to feel confident in a social setting. He also does very well in new situations so long as a familiar adult is nearby. For example, he'll be fine at a party in a place he's never been b/c he knows we are around. Starting daycare, though, where it was new environment + all new people, was really hard for him to adjust to.
Charlie is very social, but a total introvert like his Daddy. There comes a point during his day where he needs alone time and has no problem going to his room alone for like an hour to read or play quietly. If he needs it and doesn't get away, its major meltdown time. I'm extroverted, but as I get older, I definitely see the value in decompression/alone time.
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
DH is a total extrovert, but I'm more of an introvert. E is just like me. We're both very social and outgoing, but need our own decompression time. E's even been known to say he needs a chill out and will go into his room for a bit to be alone. E def has a sciencey/engineering side ot him kind of like me. He'll watch something working for HOURS! He has to figure out how every little part of something works.
I am very social and have a lot of friends, and DS is definitely following in my footsteps. He is not shy at all and is at ease in any situation. My DH isn't shy, but he's just not interested in strangers.

None of us fit into a clear category.
