Greyson and popularity

Hello everyone- my hubby and I found out last week we're having a boy. We both really like Greyson Matthew and Elliott Matthew, but are having a hard time deciding. I've loved Greyson for awhile, but I'm afraid it's becoming too popular. Anyone else using Greyson or know a Greyson? My name is Charity and I always had a unique name that no one else had and everyone always complimented me on it. I'd like to try to do the same for our son.

I have both Grayson and Elliott on my list. I think they are both nice names. I think I prefer Elliott.

Greyson is one I have been hearing (I live in the South) quite a bit lately, Elliot not so much.

I much prefer Elliott. Greyson sounds like a last name to me, and trendy. I also can't help but wonder if all of these "Grey" variations might have something to do with the popularity of 50 shades..

IMO there is no contest between Elliott and Greyson. Any name that ends in "son" is so overdone at this point. Elliott is classic and ages well.

There is a child named Greyson amongst my friends from a birth class for DS#1. It's gaining popularity but I don't think it too popular right now. I do know a guy who was referred to Grey amongst my peers. Not sure if that was short for Greyson though.

I love Grayson (for some reason the e spelling looks strange to me, although I prefer the nickname Grey over Gray so I'm all over the place). I don't know any, but I do know it's definitely a popular name, so the fact that it isn't in my circle doesn't mean much.
