Is this average? Dd is 5 months, she had an appt last wk for shots and tge dr said she should be crawling soon. Im not sure whats average. Im both excited, and terrified ab crawling.
My oldest son army crawled around 7 months, maybe sooner, and took his first steps at around 9 months. I can't remember exactly, it was over 6 years ago. He didnt crawl properly until after he was walking, I know that for sure.
My neighbor asked if dd was crawling yet. I'm sure I gave her the "for real?" look. DS crawled at 6 months and was walking at 8 to 8.5 months. He was just over eager. Most people I know say their kids crawled 7 to 8 months. Most babies find a way to move around before though, like scooting or rolling. Not every baby crawls either.

My FB was crawling at the end of 7 months and walking at 10. My best friend's LO was just crawling all over my house at 7 months, and he has been for the past month. I think it is on the rarer side, but not completely uncommon. But some kids totally skip crawling as well, remember it's not really a milestone.
My DD crawled at 6 months. Actually, one week shy of 7 months. It sucked. Knock your DD over and cuddle her some more. Once they start moving, they never stop!!
