Working Moms

Hardest part about being a working mom. .

Is leaving your child at the babysitter/daycare and they are crying for you not to go. That was my morning. Not a good feeling .

Re: Hardest part about being a working mom. .

  • I had that a few weeks ago.  I am so sorry.  DH told me to just remember probably within a minute of me leaving he was probably fine and getting to work at having fun. Still hard.  Hope your day gets better. :)

  • I'm not sure which is worse, them crying for you not to go or them crying when you come to pick them up!  I've had that happen.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • Totally flameworthy confession: when my kids have been totally fine and then are sad at drop-off, yes, it's heartbreaking.  BUT when they are just having a no-good-reason whiny clingy day, sometimes knowing that at drop-off I have a good excuse to walk away is really liberating, and I'm so glad it's going to be someone else's "shift" for a while.

No flames here, this was totally me this morning.  I was late to work because DS had to go into timeout because he wouldn't put down his toys and get in the car.  I was kind of relieved to drop him off in his classroom this morning.

  • My daycare has cameras so that makes it better.  I can watch her online all day if I want to.  I totally understand the somedays it feels good to drop them off and go to the world of professional adults!  I'm not sure how I'll feel about it this time around with my new baby.  I already want to be home and I'm just pregnant.

  • I know that feeling.  It is hard.  One of the hardest things for me is sending one of my LO's to DC when I know they don't feel good.  (DD has a cold, and all I want to do is keep her home with me and snuggle her.)

  • It sucks.  We've all been there.  That's what this board is for: to offer support.  Hang in there mama.

Yep, I've had both of these happen this week.  She doesn't know what she wants  ;)

Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
