Should I look into taking a birthing class? or a "refresher" class? This is our second DD but I had our first 5 years ago. Not like much has changed, but would you take a class again?
Me - 31
DH - 31 (low count, morph and mobility due to carcinoid syndrom)
1 DD born in 2008
TTC - Summer 2011
Lupron Trigger 12/8/12
Retrieval 12/10/12
Implantation 12/15/12
Beta Reading 12/28/12 - 652 BFP -
We will finally be a family of 4
When I talk to moms about this (FTM & STM) some say the classes were helpful and some say they weren't. I guess it varies on the mom. I'm a FTM so take that for what its worth.
BFP #1 11/07/2012 EDD 07/09/2013 M/C 11/22/2012
BFP #2 02/05/2013 EDD 09/19/2013
Arrived via c-section 09/27/2013
I'm not planning to take a birth class again, but will be doing the hospital tour since LandD has changed a lot since DS, and will take a CPR and breastfeeding class as a refresher.
I wouldn't think anyone who retook the class is nuts! Lol. I am taking the hospitals class, but we have to use a different hospital this time, so I think it would be nice to know how this hospital does things, since it may be different. Honestly, even if you are going to te same hospital, since its been 5 years, they may have changed things as well, and you might want to know.
January 2009: Goodbye TR (13 weeks)
February 2010: Welcome DD1!
March 2011: Welcome DD2!
I am a FTM but I have a thing about "classes"...no way you are getting my hormonal opinionated butt in any class right now...so no. If you have a child already, you should be fine! I think it is still the same? Feed, burp, change, repeat....
I went the first time around, but I would say from being on the bump, and having the week by week pregnancy book I didn't learn anything new, it was however an eye opening experience for DH.
I will not be doing it again, as we are having a RSC anyway but even if I wasn't I don't think I would learn anything new. I do agree with pp about the hospital visit though, especially after 5 years.
Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.
