So it's OK for country fans to say horrid things about Obama all the time, but the Dixie Chicks can't criticize that dop Bush.
OK. So stupid.
EXACTLY.
I do think their sales initially increased after that comment, but only because the right-wing nutjobs were buying their CDs just so they could burn them.
And then they (the Dixie Chicks) completely disappeared.
However, they went from adorable to shrewish. Look, I'm all for freedom of speech. You wanna bash Bush? Fine, whatever. But doing it at a country music concert? Nope. It's called knowing your audience. If I'm Mumford & Sons, do I declare my hatred for skinny jeans and hipsters? Uh, no. I honestly don't feel the least bit sorry for what happened to them. Natalie should've known better before spouting off, and especially should've known better before wearing a "FUTK" shirt on national television. You know what? FUNM! There are a few country singers who are left of center but do you hear them shout it from the rooftops? No, you don't because they know where their bread is buttered. And honestly, it's not so much that they thought that way or even that it was said at a concert; it was how bitter and mean they were afterwards. I realize this came out of left field for you girls, but seriously? Way to alienate your fanbase.
They were "bitter and mean" because people were threatening to murder them, threatened to bring bombs to their concerts. Natalie never went on stage for a year after that without a death threat happening. That's not okay, no matter what she said.
Re: I'm listening to the Dixie Chicks
Absolutely. I'm not a big fan of country music, but I love the Dixie Chicks and what happened to them is not cool.

Sad.
Exactly. It's patriotic to say nasty things about Obama.
