The MFM called today we have a 1/65 chance of having downs according to her. So we are moving forward with amnio Tuesday.
Also if I am having contractions they cannot do anything about it until 23 weeks has anyone else been told this? I thought there was blood pressure meds they could give?

We had a similar experience. Our odds were 1/47 after the Quad screen (got the results back at 16 weeks), went up to 1/24 after the level 2 ultrasound (nuchal fold & echogenic bowel) (19 weeks). We opted to do the Harmony screening instead of the amnio. The results of the Harmony came back negative for downs so our odds went from 1/24 to 1/10,000.
Good luck on Tuesday, I really hope you get good news. You'll be in my thoughts.

Just wanted to wish you well and say I have several friends who have had very concerning findings on screenings and went through several weeks of torture with CVS, amnio etc. All turned out to be normal babies.
Even with the odds they are giving you, remember you have 64/65 chance of NORMAL!

In general I don't think they do anything to stop labor before 23 weeks. I had preterm labor with my first and am really freaked out about having it happen even earlier this time. My OB and MFM both say there's nothing to do before 23 weeks. I am doing P17 shots to help prevent preterm labor though. Is that an option for you? If you ever want to talk about the specifics there I'm happy to chat about it. It can be kind of difficult to find it compounded (so it's affordable - the name brand is so incredibly ridiculously expensive it isn't even remotely possible for most people to afford it).
As for the blood pressure meds, are you talking about Procardia? I took that last time around but I don't think they give it unless you're actively contracting and again, not before 23 weeks.

So sorry you are going through this stress. I have no advice on the contractions at 23 weeks. But I will be praying for you. Hoping all goes well on Tuesday!
