2nd tri m/s onset? — The Bump
Pregnant after IF

2nd tri m/s onset?

I had the easiest first tri barely any nausea, decent energy , etc. I'm now about to be 14 wks, and for the last week or so i have been nauseous almost every day, vomiting every other or so, plus occasional diarrhea and insane gas cramps. WTF? Is this normal? I feel like I'm getting payback for being so lucky my first 12 weeks! Ugghhhh!

Me: 35, DH: 34, Started TTC #1 since November '11
Several Clomid/Femara rounds, then fresh IVF September '12
Fresh IVF #1: chemical pregnancy, FET #1: ectopic, methotrexate
FET #2 resulted in our amazing baby boy Levi, born on 11/3/13 at 8 lbs, 5 oz. He is our everything!

Re: 2nd tri m/s onset?

  • I didn't vomit at all until 17 weeks and then it was from acid reflux.  But the past few weeks (in the 30s) I will vomit right in between getting dressed for the day and putting my makeup on. And then I feel fine.  Pregnancy is just weird.  Hope this phase doesn't last long for you.
  • I had a rough week 13-14 weeks and then I have been fine.  Hope it's the same for you.  Feel better!!!

  • omg this past week had been awful for me!  I have had major nausea, which had completely disappeared in week 12.   I also am having stomach pains, i think it's either gas and/or indigestion ughhhhhhh.  i hope this passes, i was almost crying to my husband that i thought this part was over!

  • Thanks you guys. The gas cramps were so bad I was crying that there's no way I could go through actual labor! Guess I'll just wait it out and try to eat neutral for now this morning's eggs and sausage were a BAD idea.

  • Although I was nauseous during my first trimester-I only actually vomited a few times.  At about 14 weeks it hit me!  If I went too long without eating I would feel sick-and then would vomit as soon as I ate something.  Its slowed down now, but that's because I've been more careful about actually taking my breaks at work, and carrying more high protein snacks.
